About

Tung Chung, meaning "eastern stream", is an area on the northwestern coast of Lantau Island, Hong Kong. One of the most recent new towns, it was formerly a rural fishing village beside Tung Chung Bay, and along the delta and lower courses of Tung Chung River and Ma Wan Chung in the north-western coast of Lantau Island. The area was once an important defence stronghold against pirates and foreign military during the Ming and the Qing dynasties. Administratively, Tung Chung is part of Islands District.

We queued up at the scene around 09:10 on 4/13, and boarded the second panoramic carriage at 10:07. It is recommended that everyone queue up early. At 11:40, there was already a long queue at Tung Chung Station, and you may have to wait for up to two hours.

Ngong Ping 360 cable car offers a breathtaking journey through the stunning landscapes of Lantau Island in Hong Kong. As you soar above lush mountains and verdant valleys, you'll be treated to panoramic views that are nothing short of spectacular. The experience begins at the Tung Chung terminal, where you board the cable car. The cabins are spacious and offer both standard and glass-bottomed options, providing different perspectives of the scenery below. The glass-bottomed cabins offer a thrilling experience for those seeking an extra dose of adrenaline. The highlight of the journey is undoubtedly the majestic Tian Tan Buddha statue and the Po Lin Monastery, which come into view as you approach Ngong Ping Village. The sight of the colossal Buddha statue against the backdrop of the mountains is awe-inspiring and makes for some incredible photo opportunities. The entire journey takes around 25 minutes one way, during which you can immerse yourself in the tranquility of the surrounding nature and marvel at the beauty of Hong Kong's countryside. Overall, Ngong Ping 360 cable car is a must-do experience for visitors to Hong Kong, offering a unique perspective of the region's natural beauty and cultural landmarks. Whether you're a thrill-seeker or simply seeking a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, this cable car ride promises an unforgettable adventure.

The crystal carriage is special to the ordinary carriages, but if you are afraid of heights, don’t choose the crystal carriage! ! If you want to take the return trip from Ngong Ping to Tung Chung before 10am, you can charter a bus.

When the weather is nice, it is definitely a comfortable experience to take the whole family for a walk to Tung Chung and then go to Ngong Ping Market to take photos and eat the snack of standing bean curd.

Due to the weather problem, I bought a flight at Klook when I arrived in Tung Chung that day. I used the QR code directly after arriving, which was convenient and fast.

To get here, you can take the MTR to Tung Chung station, exit station area near Citygate outlets, follow the directions, you can use the cable car (Ngong Ping 360) I recommend taking the cable car, so you can enjoy the beautiful view from the top for 25 minutes. At the top, you can walk through Ngong Ping Village and then climb the stairs to Tian Tan Buddha.
