Overall: 6/10 This property feels more like a hostel with private rooms rather than a traditional hotel. It’s set in a beautiful historic Portuguese-style building, which gives it a lot of charm. The atmosphere is very lively and geared toward a younger crowd, with frequent parties and loud music, so it may not suit those looking for a quiet stay. The staff were helpful and pleasant throughout. Most rooms are set up as shared spaces with either four beds or two beds. In private rooms, two twin beds are pushed together to create a larger bed. In my case, the bed itself needed maintenance—the legs were unstable, and I had to adjust or fix it each time I got into bed. The rooms overall are in need of upkeep. While the colorful design adds character, there was mould in the bathroom and visible stains. Housekeeping is not automatic, so you need to request cleaning each morning. My room included a fridge, which was convenient, though most rooms do not. There is also no TV, which aligns with the social, hostel-style concept. On the positive side, the Wi-Fi was excellent, and the food on the menu was very good. One thing to note: be careful walking on the stone pathways around the property, as they can be uneven. Overall, for the price, it’s a decent option if you don’t plan to spend much time in the room and are comfortable with a more social, hostel-like environment.

A fairly large and good space for remote work. The downside is the neighbors, who might talk loudly at night, rustle bags in the morning, spray a lot of perfume, and cough. There should be rules posted everywhere about respecting other guests.

Water from the shower would spill onto the floor. Looked like a mini pool inside the room. We were given towels to soak up the water which wouldn’t help. People would slip and fall from how wet the floor would be. The water would spill outside the bathroom on to the room we would sleep in.

The room wasn’t clean. The staff, though nice, couldn’t stop the all night parties in the pool beside our room. Like 10pm to 6am. Security was sent a couple times and they quieted down for a bit, but because they were drunk, they just carried on. The grounds are beautiful and I had stayed there previously last year, but the rooms have deteriorated. We had a private room.

Good

Stayed with partner · For leisure

No TV in the room, no glasses (we had to beg for them in the hotel’s restaurant), no windows in the room (only on the entrance door), no mats on the concreted floor, no room cleaning service till you ask for it. The check in process was very slow. There is a lot of staff around, but they are not really efficient. The property is in need of renovation for sure.

Clean room but without house keeping throughout my one week's stay. Breakfast was fantastic and varied. Property was very clean though busy with loads and loads of guests. Amanda was very helpful to me. Location was a few minutes walk to the tram going to Christ the Redeemer Statue. Local transport bus station was also nearby. Overall great value for money. Kudos to the staff.
