The property is more run down than the website shows. The beach towel situation was ridiculous. Could only get towels from 8 to 5 and they close for lunch and they give you a hard time exchanging them. They say you can only make reservations at the Japanese restaurant on the same day. Waited in line for when the reservation desk first thing in the morning only to be told they were all booked for dinner because of large party reservations. Staff were rude. However Amanda the concierge was extremely accommodating. She squeezed us in for dinner at the Japanese restaurant for my daughter’s birthday dinner.

Great
The hotel rooms are outdated. It needs a refresher or this hotel will be out of business in a year or two. The rooms are poorly maintained and some smell bad and sinks/showers are clogged. The restaurants are nice but my opinion they can add one or two more choices. The restaurants are not open every night so it can get crowded with long waits and poor service. Most of the staff are helpful. They have a Hibachi restaurant where they con you to buy a bottle in order to secure a reservation and then they rush you out by serving you dessert with the main course. I felt like the buffet hall was the best choice with great service. I was happy with the drinks. I was also happy the hotel was family friendly as I have three children. Lots of kids which was great to see.

Fantastic
Overall our stay was excellent! The staff were extremely helpful and nice. The food was great and the location was easily accessible to other areas. Mambo beach blvd was literally a 10 minute walk.

The beach and water were beautiful and the food was mediocre. The property was a 3 star at most. It was definitely a dated property.

Just don’t book book this hotel unless you want to be disappointed. The snorkel g is decent and some staff were ok. Odds are you won’t get what you pay for when you book. We were robbed of our ocean front room. Had to change rooms 3 times over 2 days to get working AC. Most people we spoke with didn’t have working AC in their rooms and had to use fans which helped but rooms stayed in the high 80’s anyway. Food was terrible at buffet and restaurants. Menus never changed, quality was poor, and many times they were out of things at the buffet and specialty restaurants. Swim up bar never staffed. If you pay for the better drink package you have to walk to the lobby bar for the better drinks and can’t get them at the main pool, only at the upgraded pool. Our first room had no shear curtains even though it was on the beach where everyone walked by, room was dirty, outdated, broken drawers and a cockroach on the floor right as we came in. There are many other disappointments to list but it would take too long. We’ve been to 7 different all inclusive brands across 5 countries and this was the first time we regretted our trip decision.

My family and I had a rough arrival day but after I voiced my concerns, the staff was very attentive and very helpful in fixing the situation. Outside of that, the resort was nice, clean and the staff was very nice.

Great

Stayed with friends

Amanda and the rest of the staff were lovely and accommodating. The view was perfect. The room, although dated, was spacious and the beds were great. The food was average and the drinks were pretty watered down for my liking. Our biggest complaint was that the pool closed at 6:00 daily. We ventured outside of the resort every day and would have appreciated having the pool open until at least 8:00 pm daily so that we could have enjoyed it. We were told it closes for daily cleaning but I never once saw staff cleaning it and on the one day I actually was able to use it, there was algae growing on the ledge I was leaning on...so much for cleaning. What wins this place over is the location, the beach/snorkeling, and the friendly staff.

So when we arrived our room wasn’t ready. Then we had to wait a hour and a half for another room. Then our new room had no air conditioning. We had to use a fan for 5 days. And another thing we was given a room with two queen size beds instead of a king size! The food at the buffet was horrible. However Blue Water grill was very good and the staff was pleasant. The ocean had lots of rocks so make sure you get water shoes. The staff at the bars was nice but some was not to friendly. Thanks
