The construction in the building definitely does not help with the travel experience right now. Only one elevator accessible with no lounge area for guests to wait out their departure times after check in is not helpful as construction workers prohibit a lot of areas for guests to access due to safety reasons. They require the hostel guest to do more (such as make your own bed sheets, covers, etc.) as compared to some other hostels who already have all that done for you by housekeeping upon arrival. Bed frames and room was nice and with newer furniture. Washroom was a decent size as well to accommodate everything. (Full shower, toilet and sink) Despite being in a "noisier" area, I do feel safe living in such a space. Also the convenience of the property being right next to the train station outweighs a lot of the cons.

Do not book here. I travel for ~180 days a year (since 2022), and this hotel was the worst in every single aspect. I asked for my luggage stored securely, but they lost it by forcing me to put a storage room where someone stole it. The worse thing is that several staff (all) said it is none of their business and they are not responsible. They forced me to go to a police station without helping, but they gave a wrong direction. I walked for 1.5h on a hot day at ~40C, and a Belgium police station said I need to wait for 5h until midnight to report the theft. The room was waiting for me with a used towel on the sink. It is dirty. The entire building has no air-conditioning at 41C on a day. Hotter than outside. No staff (more than 6) showed empathy or said sorry. People were shouting at and after midnight, and it is under construction with only one elevator for a 10-story building. Check in is super slow. If they said "sorry" in response to my luggage theft, I might not post it. I rarely do so. However, people should know about horrible service and quality to make sure that no more victims or no more such nonsense would occur.

Where do I even start? When I walked in on night 1 I was greeted by an unfriendly staff member, no amenities, handed unfolded bundled up linens, no lounge no common area to speak off… was given room 905. The moment I walked into the room I was hit by a strong whiff of sweat, musty odour and smelly clothes and shoes. The room has a small ceiling light and 2 bunk beds squished together. I share with men my 4 nights. I was literally puking in the morning with the bad smell. I wanted to cry. The bunk beds had a small curtain which wouldn’t close all the way so you would be viewable from the end and also didn’t go all the way to the ceiling so if the one ceiling light was on, yiu would just have to live with it. I didn’t feel safe as a woman here. Not at all. The area itself felt quite unsafe! The room was so hot. No ac. The one window was ooen abd facing Centraal station so it was loud at night time. People had their undergarments and socks strewn across the floor abd brought back smelly food and alcohol in the room so the already smelling room smelled even worse. To top it off I read about bed bugs at other a&o hostels. If you are travelling solo and a female and want an adventure… forget about this place for your own sanity and well being. I felt so dirty and tired after staying here… I didn’t want to come back to the room after walking 20k steps every day and left around 6 and came back around 9. Never ever again. So please stay away! It’s the worst experience I have ever had!

Facilities in room were fine with decent bathroom and curtains on dorm beds. Given linen at check in so need to make your own bed. Some people in the dorm didn't bother putting pillow case and duvet cover on so unsure how clean beds can be. Shared a dorm with 3 men which didn't feel very nice as a solo female. Terrible snorers and awful coughing meant I didn't sleep well. Very noisy location through the night with ambulances and shouting. Not really any common areas to sit during the day.

Easy to find from Antwerp Central station. Room clean and comfy. School trip spread across floors and very noisy throughout the night. Limited sound proofing.

Really convenient location

Great location, close to station and near all landmarks, can be noisy if you want to relax, the bathroom are tight and the breakfast lacks diversity
