Fantastic
Absolutely beautiful hotel - our room was one of the nicest we’ve stayed in in Greece. Great location near the port. Would have appreciated having someone help us with our luggage getting into and out of the hotel.

Stayed with family

It was my second time staying at the Megaron in three years. Positives: 1. The hotel’s location and views were fantastic. It is a short walk to the marina, the Venetian fortress, ferry docks, and the center of the city. 2. Views from the restaurant on the top floor and the small swimming pool are spectacular. 3. The breakfast buffet was immense and offered something for everyone. The dining room setting is also luxurious, and the staff very accommodating and helpful. 4. We booked two tours independently, and pick up from the hotel was easy. 5. The staff at reception are some of the nicest, most friendly staff I have met. 6. The room we had (king sized bed) was clean, spacious, and decorated beautifully, sparing no expense. Cons: 1. The pool is on the small side. 2. The blanket on the bed was thin.

The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and impeccably maintained. The staff is warm, welcoming, and provides excellent service throughout the stay. The gym, however, is quite small and is located on the first floor next to the reception area, which may not offer the most relaxing fitness environment. Additionally, while the resort advertises spa amenities, many of these are available only for an additional fee. Breakfast is also an extra charge (€20 per person). Given the room rates and the resort’s luxury status, I believe breakfast should be included as part of the stay.

Lovely Historic building and great location. Nice free parking lot which is rare in Greece. We were able just to leave the car parked and walk everywhere we went. Easy load in and out of hotel as well.

Solo stay

I arrived late in the evening due to a flight delay and on entry the hotel initially felt a little soulless, but the staff changed my mind instantly. Proper five star hospitality. I was immediately offered a glass of water and was automatically upgraded as a silver member. I felt welcome very quickly and this continued throughout my stay. Rooftop pool area is nice and quiet (no thumping music). Generally an understated and private place to stay and a great location for exploring Heraklion on foot. Would stay again.

Fantastic

Solo stay

The hotel was perfectly located for my needs...exploring the city as well as visiting the museums!! Important to me was the closeness to the port - as I took a couple ferry/catamaran experiences. And, I loved the Wine Bar on the top floor...great views and a nice selection of food/wine. The concierges were very helpful and pleasant the work with.

It’s a solid hotel but in no way is it 5 stars or a luxury hotel.
