Silently infused into our urban surroundings, we wouldn't naturally take special attention of these murals until this tour - giving them a voice and glimpses into the history of Singapore's Chinatown. Our guide, Rebecca, showed great enthusiasm when explaining these murals to us; and went the extra mile to ensure that the elderly was well taken care of throughout the tour. Kudos to her professionalism! It wrapped up spectacularly with a scenic night viewing on a boat and give Singaporeans further appreciation of how we've come so far to becoming a city state from humble beginnings.
Our family used the Rediscovery Vouchers and took our two elderly grandparents (89 years old) for this tour. Thanks to the helpful staff, our grandparents had minimal problem to board the cruise boat. The cruise along Singapore river brought back many warm memories especially to our grandparents. The highlight of the tour was the good spread of buffet dinner at Tung Lok Signatures.
Tour started punctually. Our guide Fiona was friendly, experienced and jovial. Although all 22 of us in the group are Singaporean aged 10+ to 70+, many were amazed by the many interesting walls of artworks depicting historical events, hidden around Chinatown.
The seafood dinner was sumptuous.
Finally the memorable Singapore River Cruise was the finale of the 4 hours tour.
Check in process is smooth along with the co-vid test. Cruise experience was great with decent shows, fun water slides, exiting zip line, unlimited food and much more stuff. During this co-vid, it was a great activity to get away from Singapore.
Take note that $21 per night have to paid in the cruise for gratuity.
It was a great experience. I enjoyed every moment. The Bumboat ride at 6 pm in the evening was the best time...cool and bright enough to see the scenery and landmarks along our Singapore River. Thereafter about 7 pm we had our Seafood Dinner. The food was delicious! I love the chilli crab as it is not too spicy. The yam paste (Orh Ni) was yummy too. I highly recommend this tour.
The trip is insightful with murals at Chinatown area which is seldom seen. Especially for most of Singaporean who only go to CNY during evening times.
The short Singapore River boat ride is also relaxing.
The food at the house of seafood (crabs) is quite nice.
Overall the tour is highly recommended. worth spending the $100 SRV to use up the $$ on one single trip.
