This cycling tour is of one the highlights of my Yogyakarta trip. Other than the must visit Borobudur, Prambanan and Merapi, do allocate time to visit this Plaosan village. It's where you get out from tourism hotspots and truly feel the local culture and kindness of Yogyakarta! The tour started in the early morning where my friend and I were fetched by a comfortable vehicle from our hotel in Malioboro. Arrived at the village, we were introduced to Ning. She was so graceful, and her passion towards this village is undisputable. She is also a language genius who speaks English and Bahasa fluently. Having stayed in Hong Kong for years, she too speaks good Cantonese and some Mandarin! Here, she brought us around paddy fields, fruit farms, tobacco farms and other agriculture lands on bicycle. That's not all, she next brought us to visit the neighborhood houses to learn about tofu processing, tempe processing, making emping crackers and expericing the fun of local music instruments. Well and a lot more...as long as you name it she will generously show you or explain as much as possible. Of course you will be visiting the 9th century Plaosan Temple! Ning was very kind and generous to us, she constantly looked back whilst cycling to make sure we were doing fine and she even stopped to pluck some local wild fruits for us to taste. We were so touched when she used her money to treat us free traditional ice cold beverage when she realised we were sweating later of the tour. She told us she hoped she had done good and showed us how lovely was this village, which surely she had! I still remember the people who smiled with us and the students greeting us "have a nice day" while passing through. I really respect her kind gesture and love towards the village. I have not regretted joining this cycling tour. I would recommend anyone who loves to experience authentic local culture to venture out of Yogyakarta tourist hotspots. Help Ning to bring and secure more meaningful job opportunities to the villagers and at the same time you could learn so many wonderful local culture, lifestyle and practices from this great cycling tour.

Klook team is very responsive, even more if you contact them through whatsapp. Andi, our designated driver, came on time and was very helpful throughout the tour. Borobudur itself is magnificent, anyone will definitely be amazed by it. Too bad we were not able to see the sunrise because of the thick fog. Nonetheless, it was one of our trip's best highlight. The buffet breakfast was great, you can expect this as one of the best meals you'll have staying in Yogyakarta. There's really nothing to see at Merapi except for a house which was supposedly burried in ashes because of the volcanic eruption, a bunker and a mining field. The Merapi jeep is a great experience but if you have a tight schedule, might as well check other tour offers. Suggestion to Klook team: Maybe you can offer a Borobudur sunrise and Prambanan sunset package too. We had to do our Prambanan tour ourselves because the available package here have the Prambanan tour too early for the sunset viewing. Thank you!

Driver was punctual and notify us time to pick up. Was worried before I book this trip as I stay in Borobudur where it says pick up at Yogyakarta area. Glad I decided to book and the driver pick us up with no additional charges. Sunrise is based on luck though and if you stay in Yogyakarta, prepare to get up early or skip your sleep.

Private visits to Borobudur and Prambanan with English speaking guides at both temples were truly amazing and best of my stay in Yogyakarta. I considered sunrise tour as well, but I really wanted to see the temples structures and buildings (which you cannot do in the darkness) and also wanted to take time to walk around in my pace, so I arranged a private tour in a day time starting from the hotel in Yogyakarta at 8 am and I was back by the hotel before 17:00, which was perfect! I highly recommend to add guides in both temples with KLOOK, which makes the entrance process very smooth and you don’t loose time and they do give you very good experienced guides. Transportation with very clean car with AC, and English speaking driver was very comfortable as well. I will

Driver texted us a day before to ensure all info given is correct. I was picked up on time at 3am and soon joining others to the site. It was a bit cold and lucky to have it with me. The stupa site itself is absolutely amazing and very instagrammable! Breakfast were served through the end of the tour. Nothing to complain! This is a must tour when visit Yogyakarta!

It was such a wonderful experience and definitely a highlight in my whole Yogyakarta trip! The driver was nice, I could watch wonderful sunrise. Tip! If you want to experience the temple without large crowd, leave the top of the temple earlier than others. When I went there it was little bit cloudy so we couldn't see see the clear sunrise view. So i left the top of the temple earlier, and it turned out to be a great choice since I could experience the whole place without big crowd.
