Presented by Why Show Serious, the stage comedy Trauma Queen (《辦公室劇后》), written and directed by Tang Chi Kin (鄧智堅), uses relatable, down-to-earth humour to depict the chaotic workplace survival struggles of office ladies (OLs).
This production brings together stage queen Alice Lau (劉雅麗), Academy for Performing Arts graduate Leung Ka-ki (梁嘉琪), HOY’s top actress Lo Chung Yan (盧頌恩(妹頭)), Utopia Pictures HK’s (香城映畫) top actress Cheung Kam Ha (張錦霞(阿霞)), along with comedy experts Cheung Yik Tung (張翼東) and So Yuk Fai (蘇育輝), to create this brand-new comedy Trauma Queen. The show turns resonance into laughter and tears into humour.
A faded actress reinvents herself with an office job, only to encounter free-riding colleagues and an absolutely savage boss. While searching for her own self-worth, she discovers that everyone around her isn’t just two-faced at work — they’re full-blown multi-faced Drama Queens. This show hilariously gives voice to all the things working women can’t say out loud, turning their inner monologues into theatrical “inner dramas.”
If the workplace is a palace scheming drama, then growing up is a horror movie — and we’re all Trauma Queens!
