Fantastic 5.0
Compared to the Oita Zoo, this one is noticeably smaller, but the fun part is that you can buy food to feed the animals, similar to how it works in Canada! Also, you can tell they really care for their animals because every single one is very clean, except for the cows.

The scheduled pipe organ performances and antique instrument demonstrations were varied experience.

A super organized park! An opportunity to see animals up close like lemurs and monkeys and even feed them… I loved it! I highly recommend it 🥰 Price: I paid 5,500 through Klook for 2 adults and one 9-year-old child.

Top things to do in Nasu through the year

Nasu’s attractions are dominated by zoos & aquariums, followed by a smaller but steady museum scene. Demand rises and falls through the year, peaking in November and dipping around April, so expect the busiest activity periods in late spring.

Best picks for families, couples and solo travellers

Families will find zoos & aquariums especially rewarding — they offer a wide range of options that suit kids and mixed-age groups. Couples can enjoy quieter museum visits for a more relaxed, contemplative outing. Solo travellers and small groups will also find zoos & aquariums flexible and easy to use, while museums provide an inexpensive, low‑effort way to explore local culture.

What travellers from Australia tend to book ahead

Most bookings in Nasu can be picked up close to travel—there’s a lot of last‑minute flexibility—yet the earliest planners still commonly book activities around two days ahead, and that extra planning matters most in November. If you’re travelling in the peak month, consider confirming key tickets a few days beforehand to avoid disappointment.
