Do you have upcoming travel plans and are now a little uncertain about what to do? Don’t worry, we’ve got your back!  We’ve put together the most updated information on activity closures in Japan and South Korea, as well as Klook’s policy around cancellations and refunds.
We’re monitoring the development of the COVID-19 situation closely and are aware that times like this can get a little tricky for everyone. One thing’s for sure though - the safety of our community is our top priority, and as always- we’re committed to bringing the best travel experiences to our customers.

If you decide to reschedule/ cancel your trip - here is Klook’s policy

    Open Dated Ticket Reference
    Open Dated Ticket Reference
Did you know? Klook offers open dated tickets for some activities where you have the flexibility to redeem your voucher on any date within the validity period stated on the Klook activity page. Have a look at the Klook website and navigate to the specific activity page for more information on whether this applies to your booking, as below.

Customers who have booked Klook activities and wish to reschedule or cancel

Customers who have booked activities in mainland China, Hong Kong or Macau dated till 15 March 2020 can either choose to reschedule or seek a refund on their purchase, at no additional cost.
For customers who have booked activities at all other destinations and wish to reschedule or cancel their bookings dated till 15 March, we will require their assistance to share appropriate supporting documents. Please note that this is a very busy period and it may take some time to hear back - but rest assured we have your query and will attend to it as soon as we can!

Customers who have booked Klook activities that have temporarily closed

As for customers who have booked an activity in Japan or South Korea that has been closed for their visiting dates, please reach out to customer support to reschedule or for a full refund.

If you decide to proceed with your trip - here are alternatives to consider

If you’re already on the move or proceeding with your trip, there’s still a lot open in Japan and South Korea to see that are outside of the standard attractions.
Why not go off the beaten track and take the opportunity to discover some hidden gems and unique experiences instead where the crowds are less likely to be found? Here are some alternative things to check out to make the trip worthwhile:

    Japan

    1. Experience Japan’s traditions of the tea ceremony, calligraphy and dessert making

    Japanese tea ceremony
Immerse yourself in Japanese culture and uncover the intricate processes that go behind the production of tea - from boiling to serving, there’s lots to learn about. Next up, you can also try your hand at writing Japanese characters using ink, brush and paper. Wrap it all up with making your very own traditional dessert called ‘Higashi’ to satisfy that sweet tooth of yours!
    2. Watch a sumo wrestling show
Sumo Show Experience with Chanko Lunch
Sumo Show Experience with Chanko Lunch
Sumo wrestling is Japan’s national sport and it is like nothing else in the world. It’s a must-do on a trip to Japan!  Entertaining for over 1,500 years, these athletes are widely revered and when you witness their skills you will understand why. You may even get the chance to try out some of their moves!
    3. Try puffer fish
    Would you try puffer fish?

The chefs at Japan’s number one sushi restaurant, Guenpin Fugu, are masters of their craft and even need to obtain a license in order to make your meal! The tranquil and traditional setting of this famed restaurant will calm your nerves before you tuck into your carefully prepared dish and when you have lived to tell the tale, you will be sharing a story of one of the most unique experiences in Japan.
    4. Relax at a hot spring theme park

If it’s chilling, not thrilling, that you’re after then a day of bathing and pampering at Oedo-Onsen-Monogatari is in order. At Japan’s largest hot spring theme park, you can indulge in steam baths, open air hot springs and foot baths before trying your hand at some old-fashioned carnival games and stocking up on Japanese sweets. All the services you would expect at your local beauty salon are available in these tranquil surrounds that are modelled on Japan’s renowned Edo period. Park entry, robe hire, and baths are included in the price.
    5. Race through the streets with a go karting experience

Open to people who hold a valid International Driver's Permit issued within the last year, you can see the sights from street level at up to 60km/hour while being led by a professional. The cosplay costumes are optional but, come on, isn’t that all part of the fun? There are a few different places to take part in the Go Karting experience in Tokyo, but in Akihabara there are a few different packages to accommodate for any budget or time constraints.
