Six Secrets Behind the Disneyland Paris Castle

Everyone knows that Disneyland Paris is the happiest place on Earth, right? Right.

But did you know that behind the rides and the candy and the costumes, there are actually loads of secrets just waiting to be discovered? And nowhere is this more true than the world-famous Disneyland Paris Castle.

Don’t believe us? Well it just so happens that we’ve created a list of our favourite six secrets about the Disneyland Paris castle that only the biggest Disney fans will know...

Did you know...that beneath the famous castle, there’s a hidden dragon?! 🐉  Now we’ve all seen GoT so we know that dragons can be dangerous, but if you’re brave enough, then make your way around the left hand side of the castle until you find a cave-like entrance. Head inside and you’ll find yourself face to face with a live dragon! Just make sure you stay quiet though, you don’t want to wake it up! 🤐

Did you know...that if you go upstairs in the castle, eventually you’ll come across an armoured guard. Now at first glance, the guard looks like it’s doing its job, but if you listen reeeaaally carefully, you’ll be able to hear it snoring away! Not because they’re overworked, but because of the curse that has been put on the castle! 🏰

Did you know...that when you’re upstairs, if you keep your eyes peeled, you’ll see a Raven. So what, you might say! But this isn’t any old raven - like the castle, it too is hiding a secret. Look closer and take special note of its eyes. Don’t see anything different? Try taking a photo, because if you take a pic with the flash on, you should see the Raven’s eyes have changed to glow red! 👀

Did you know...that the stained-glass windows in Sleeping Beauty’s castle were actually created by real-life master glassmakers? They used the same glassworking processes and techniques that were used during the Middle Ages, which means while each window took months to create, the quality of them is first rate! Classic Disney! 🎓

No-one does attention to detail like Disney. It’s what makes their worlds so engrossing! And the Disneyland Paris castle is included in this. Did you know...that the castle at Disneyland Paris was designed using a specific shade of pink so that it stood out more against the (traditionally grey) French skies? It’s true! And similarly, the castle in Florida is grey so that it stands out more against the eternally blue Florida skies! Perfect for all those ‘grams, right? 📸

The castle is a work of art in itself, but there’s one particularly special spot where the castle looks like it’s actually alive! If you keep your eyes peeled, you’ll see one of the castle’s stained-glass windows actually changes appearance by itself! Look once and it’ll show you a rosebud, look again and it’s two entwined doves! Proof that the Disneyland Paris castle really is magical!
