Fancy Playing Badminton In The Dark?
Tired of the stuffy, noisy badminton courts at dull sports complexes across Klang Valley? Say hello to the first glow-in-the-dark badminton court in Malaysia! ✨ Level up your badminton game with luminescent shuttlecocks, glow-in-the-dark racquets, premium-grade facilities, and futuristic interiors at Shuttle In The Dark, a sparkly new indoor badminton court tucked away in an unassuming corner of KLCC. This trendy space is bound to add sprinkles of fun and excitement to your badminton matches with friends and family.
[Review] Our Experience At Shuttle In The Dark
The badminton court looked so normal with the lights on - but with custom-made racquets and a space that looks straight out of a galactic universe, we couldn't help but let out a gasp of amazement when the lights went off.
Once the lights were turned off, the court blended into pitch darkness but was illuminated with glow-in-the-dark net and line markings as well as lights that made us feel like we were playing badminton under the dreamy northern lights of Iceland or Finland (no, this is not an exaggeration).
Of course, we spent pretty much 60% of our time taking photos and marvelling at the space, and only 40% of our remaining hour actually playing badminton. The best part besides the illuminations? The court is indoors (no hot sun), air-conditioned (no humidity that's so typical of the badminton courts in Malaysia), and 100% private - which means you won't have to brush shoulders with strangers.
Basically you'll get the whole court to yourself and your gang, and it can comfortably accommodate up to 8 players at only RM22.50 per person/hour. Also, it's literally the one-and-only glow-in-the-dark badminton court in the entire fitness centre (and in Malaysia!).
Tips For Your Shuttle In The Dark Visit
Getting Here
Shuttle In The Dark is tucked away inside the Twin Towers Fitness Centre, a fitness and sports centre connected to Suria KLCC. You can drive and park at the Suria KLCC mall or Avenue K Shopping Centre, or even get here by public transport - alight at the KLCC LRT Station and walk over in under 10 minutes (the walkway here is fully-covered).
Placing Your Reservation
As there is only one glow-in-the-dark court in the entire fitness centre, we'd highly recommend reserving your slot before your head over to avoid disappointment. Place your booking on Klook and make an online reservation for your preferred date and timing on the AFA mobile app, available for download on the App Store and Google Play.
Your booking on Klook comes inclusive of:
- 1-hour of "Shuttle In The Dark" experience
- 4 glowing rackets on loan
- 1 set of exclusive glowing shuttlecocks on loan
- Experience playing on BWF Tournament Grade Floor Mat
- Air-conditioned badminton hall
- Entry for up to 8 players
What To Wear?
You can wear anything that's comfortable and ideal for playing badminton in, but if you want to take nice photos, put on a white or fluorescent shirt so you don't blend in with the background.
If you'd like, you can even rent or purchase the fluorescent reflective jerseys and sports shirts available for rental and on sale at the venue. Don't worry, you won't have a problem spotting your friends in the dark since your racquets will be glowing!
