Destinations for a 5-day holiday
Holiday dates: 5 June – 9 June 2019 (Wednesday – Sunday)
Chiang Mai, Thailand
During the month of June, you can expect less crowd and lower prices in Chiang Mai, which is perfect if you’re on a tighter budget. Make sure to spend a day at Doi Inthanon National Park and immerse yourself in northern Thailand’s lush nature while soaking in the fresh and cool air. If you’re in need of some R&R, you can always count on a good ol’ Thai massage.
Since Chiang Rai is located nearby, many like to make a day trip to visit the beautiful temples, most notably, the Black House, White Temple, and Blue Temple. Each with its own history and architecture with intricate details, they’re just as fascinating as they are captivating.
Palawan, Philippines
Named the best island in the world several times over the years, there’s truly no other place to consider than this beach getaway. Visit any of the three major islands in Palawan – Coron, Puerto Princesa, El Nido – each offering different experiences.
With its clear turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and limestone hills, it doesn’t take much to fall in love with Palawan. Visiting this hidden gem in June is the perfect time, just before the rainy season in July!
Singapore
If you don’t have the luxury of time and want to look for an easygoing holiday with the family, why not visit our neighbour, Singapore! Spend a day of fun at Universal Studios Singapore, stop and smell the roses at Gardens by the Bay, see the wonders of marine life S.E.A. Aquarium, and more.
The Great Singapore Sale is also happening now, so it’s a great time to shop for luxury goods at discounted prices. For a different perspective on Singapore, explore the neighbourhood of Joo Chiat and Tiong Bahru.
Fellow foodies, set aside your food war for a bit and go on a food hunt for popular hawker stalls and Michelin eats. Yes that’s right, there’s good food in Singapore too!
Lombok, Indonesia
June is the perfect time of the year to visit the beautiful island of Lombok, located just east of Bali. Coinciding with the start of the dry season, you can expect many travellers to start flocking to the islands. Since Lombok is still a lesser-known destination, you can still find untouched and secluded islands to yourself when you’re there.
It’s a must to visit the incredibly picturesque Gili Islands and the majestic Sendang Gile & Tiu Kelep Waterfalls. For the adventurous hikers, Mount Rinjani poses as much as a challenge as a reward when successfully conquered. Whether you’re up for some fire in your muscles or a relaxing time, Lombok has it all!
Perth, Australia
If you want to escape the summer heat in Asia, you can also head down under to Perth. Since it’s the low season during June, you don’t have to worry about bumping into huge crowds or paying exorbitant prices for hotels.
While it’s not a great time for water sports during that time of the year, there are still plenty of things to do like taking a cruise to Fremantle to explore the port city, or to Rottnest Island to check out the adorable quokkas. You can also take a day trip to Mandurah, the penguin island and more.

Busan + Jeju
Best known for its beaches, mountains and temples, make your way to the seaside town of Busan. Did you know it’s the 2nd largest city after Seoul? In this town, you can find some of the freshest seafood, majestic mountains, steaming hot springs and so much more!
From Busan, head to Jeju, the scenic offshore island of the Korean Peninsula where you can find beautiful volcanic landmarks, white sand beaches, green tea plantations and more.
