Holey Moley golf club
Most of us wouldn’t be caught in a golf course, but mini-golf bar Holey Moley is a whole ‘nother story. You’ve left the golfing world of polo tees and business talk far behind - instead, it’s a millennials’ playground with 27 themed holes and a snazzy cocktail bar. It’s also a photo spot galore since every corner you turn is bound to have an IG-worthy spot!
Whether it’s the Game of Thrones-inspired iron throne or the abundance of neon lights and vintage merch, it’s no surprise that Holey Moley is one of Singapore’s more unique watering holes. And rest assured, they’re entirely in line with COVID-19 safety measures so you can putt-putt all you want at this mini-golf course.
27 IG-worthy themed holes
Mini golf doesn’t exactly strike us as an adventurous sport but you’ll be facing more than the regular obstacles here. Instead of slow-paced windmills and castles, Holey Moley is packed with themed holes that’ll get us raring to go.
The 27 holes here are all inspired by pop culture: Game of Thrones, Wizard of Oz, The Flintstones, and even our favourite outer space visitor E.T. While each course is beginner-friendly and should take roughly 20 minutes to get through, don’t worry if you take longer - it’s normal to get sidetracked by the photogenic setups.
Each course is also specially designed so you have “challenges”. In one particular hole, you have to aim your golf ball through a moving Ferris wheel while in another, you’ll be racing against your friends.
The place is filled with other colourful backdrops around too, where you can give your best pro-golfer pose against the neon light signages. There’s even a neon orange golf cart that you can use as a life-sized photo prop!
Bar bites & cocktails
Mixing mini golf with alcohol is an idea that hails from Australia, and Holey Moley in Clarke Quay is Singapore’s very first mini-golf course to do so. Their cocktail bar, The Caddyshack Bar, takes this seriously and serves up out-of-this-world cocktails that look straight out of a Willy Wonka film set. And by that, we mean 100% delicious but with some added quirkiness.
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to carry your drink around with you due to COVID-19 restrictions - drinks and food must be consumed while seated.
The most avant garde cocktail here is Duck, Duck, Juice ($21) which comes in a miniature bathtub filled with floating rubber duckies. Seems strange? Perhaps, but this concoction of coconut cream with white rum is oh so delicious.
Other novel drinks include the Sugar Caddy ($19) which is perfect for the sweet tooth with its generous pours of lychee liqueur and vodka, and the Wild Cherry ($19), a spiked cherry cola mix. If your friends are drinkers, go crazy and order up the Cocktail Balloon ($99), a massive 3-litre tower filled with a cocktail of your choice.
Drinks aside, they do more than decently on their bar bites too. But with a 1 Metre Mega Pizza ($58), you can hardly call that a “bite” - this giant slab of cheesy goodness is more than enough to feed a group of 5. They also have a ready supply of other classic bar fare like burgers, hotdogs, fries, and other savoury dishes that pair well with an ice-cold beer.
