1. Rain Vortex in Jewel Changi Airport
Upon arrival via flight in Singapore, don't miss out on the opportunity to visit the first spot on our list, none other than the iconic HSBC Rain Vortex in the Jewel Changi Airport. This spectacular indoor waterfall known as the Rain Vortex is in fact the world's tallest indoor waterfall, a centrepiece sprouting water from 40 meters high within the Jewel shopping complex. At night, you can even catch the stunning Light & Sound Show for free — just find a spot with a good vantage point and relax as you enjoy this captivating visual experience.

Aside from the Rain Vortex, you can also visit the Canopy Park, a refreshing garden trail and play space that circles the waterfall. We recommend crossing the thrilling Mastercard® Canopy Bridge that is suspended 23 metres above ground, or play on the Bouncing Net!

2. Peranakan houses in Joo Chiat
With history dated back to the 1920s, this row of pre-war shophouses is a well-known landmark in Joo Chiat courtesy of its colourful, pastel facade. If you look closer, you will also notice flowers patterns, tiles and intricate detailing on its exterior. These photogenic Peranakan heritage houses is a free Instagrammable spot that will certainly add some colour to your Singapore visit!

3. Singapore Botanic Gardens
If you love going on long strolls in nature, the Singapore Botanic Gardens is a must-visit. Founded in 1859 and listed as Singapore's first ever UNESCO World Heritage Site, the verdant grounds provide the perfect place for you to enjoy a short respite away from the bustling city. You can spend up to three hours just exploring its expansive gardens, especially if you choose to drop by the stunning National Orchid Garden that is home to various exhibits, flowers and water displays.
The botanic gardens itself is free for all to visit, but admission into the Orchid Garden is chargeable at S$15 per adult and $3 for students and seniors. Kids below 12 years can enter for free!

4. Supertree Grove in Gardens by the Bay
The impressive Supertree Grove in Gardens by the Bay have undoubtedly become a recognisable Singaporean landmark. Meant to resemble towering trees, each of the Gardens' Supertrees at the Supertree Grove serves as a sustainable vertical garden, housing over 162,900 plants of over 200 species. Unlike other attractions at the Gardens, the Supertrees are free for you to visit and admire, including the Garden Rhapsody light show that takes place twice every night!
At a small fee, you can also head up to the Supertree Observatory, located at the canopy of the tallest Supertree at a 16-storey height. You'll get unparalleled views of the Gardens' lush surroundings from up here, as well as a themed indoor viewing space.

5. Merlion Park
Have you really been to Singapore if you haven't seen their globally-recognised icon itself, the Merlion? Standing at 8.5 meters tall and spouting water from its lion head, this half-fish, half-lion stone statue can be found at the Merlion Park near the Central Business District, a mythical creature turned Singaporean symbol. Overlooking Marina Bay, the surrounding space itself is a lively waterfront area, offering various restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops, perfect for a quick stop after taking your photos of the iconic statue.

6. Beaches at Sentosa Island
🔔 Important note: You will need to pay a small entry fee into Sentosa Island, from S$2 onwards per passenger. Check out the official Sentosa website for more information about island admission fees. However, you may still enter for free if you walk or cycle into Sentosa via the Sentosa Boardwalk.
Sentosa Island is a fun-filled hub just off Singapore's mainland, home to popular attractions like Universal Studios Singapore and Skyline Luge, but aside from all of these entertainment stops, the island itself offers beautiful beaches that are free to visit for a quick dip on the weekend.
Each one of its 3 beaches are great for different reasons – the family-friendly Palawan Beach is the go-to spot for parents and their little ones, while the laidback Tanjong Beach is a little more quiet and perfect for relaxation, and the lively Siloso Beach is where you'd go to for thrilling water sports.

7. Southern Ridges
Spanning a total of 10 kilometre-long worth of trails and bridges that connect four parks, we'd say that the scenic Southern Ridges is your best bet to enjoy a rejuvenating outdoor walk in Singapore. Get away from the busy city and a little closer to nature as you explore its routes along the southern ridge of the country, including the famous Henderson Waves and Canopy Walk. The trail will take you about 2 hours to complete and is considered a moderately challenging route, and as a bonus, you'll get treated to one of the best panoramic views of the city and the Southern Islands.

8. Mount Faber Park
Mount Faber Park is one of the oldest parks in the country, and up at its peak, you'll get to enjoy one of the most stunning views of its lush surrounding foliage and Singapore's coastline. You can also grab a meal at one of the few cafes and restaurants here. There are various ways you can get to the top, such as driving (parking is free!), taking the Singapore Cable Car, or hiking up – the park is accessible via the Marang Trail at the base of the hill and will take about 15 minutes to climb.

Located in several locations around the area, hunting for these wall art is a budget-friendly and interesting way to take a peek into life in Singapore 40 years ago. 10. Tiong Bahru flats
You might be familiar with the conventional HDB flats in Singapore but you will find a number of unique low-rise buildings in Tiong Bahru! Designed in a horseshoe shape, complete with spiral staircases and courtyards, the architecture is a mix of local and British influences. While they have gone through several facelifts since first built in 1930s, these buildings still retain that old world charm!

11. MacRitchie TreeTop Walk
Go above the tree line and conquer the heights of the MacRitchie TreeTop Walk. Situated in the Central Catchment Nature Reserve of Singapore and true to its name, this 20 kilometre-long network of trails and boardwalks will bring you on an adventure through the large forest trees that rise above the canopy, surrounding the MacRitchie Reservoir. It's the perfect chance to get up close with unique plants and catch sight of native creatures along the trail, such as the Clouded Monitor Lizard and Greater Racket-tailed Drongo.
12. Fort Canning Park
Fort Canning Park isn't just another green space in Singapore – it holds a long history, of when Malay royalty once ruled, and of when the British occupation was taken over by the invading Japanese. Spanning over 18 hectares and once known as 'Bukit Larangan' (Forbidden Hill in Malay), this garden is now a gateway to fascinating events and historical insights, such as a diverse spice garden, sculptures and murals, colonial monuments and forts, a heritage gallery, as well as the occasional music concerts and performances.

The award-winning library@orchard is probably one of our personal favourite aesthetic spots in the city, a public library centred on lifestyle, design and the applied arts. Its 2 floors are divided into The Studio, thoughtfully designed to encourage collaboration and community learning, and The Loft, a space created for you to get inspired, reflect and contemplate. Located within the Orchardgateway mall, the library also offers programmes and design-focused collections, made for aspiring designers and for those of you who may need a little creative push.

14. Rumah Kim Choo
Stopping by at Rumah Kim Choo is a must if you're ever near East Coast Road. A boutique store and museum gallery in one, it is the place to be if you’re interested in delving into the Peranakan culture. Browse around the shop and find gems like handmade beaded shoes, intricate tableware and more. Wander to the second level to take a peek into the lives and homes of a typical Peranakan house.

15. Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum
Stroll through historic Chinatown and you'll find the stunning Buddha Tooth Relic Temple & Museum nestled within. This Buddhist temple is a captivating sight to see, a majestic red building influenced by the Tang Dynasty architecture style and houses richly designed interiors, as well as comprehensive art and history exhibits on Buddhism. Every Saturday, the temple also offers free guided tours that last about 2 hours and brings you through the different floors and halls within.

16. Kuan Im Tng Temple
Wander to the quieter side of Joo Chiat and you’ll find the Kuan Im Tng Temple amidst private residences. Founded in 1919, this temple has a gathered quite a large following over the years and you can find a number of devotees paying their respects in the temple at any day. If you’re around, it certainly doesn’t hurt to stop by and pray for a little good luck!

17. Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve
Spread across a sprawling 87-hectares, the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is Singapore's first ASEAN Heritage Park and one of its largest park playgrounds. Explore its mangroves and wetlands, where you'll be greeted by its native residents, such as otters and kingfishers, as well as migratory birds that have come to Singapore to escape the cold in their homeland. The nature reserve also offers various lookout points and boardwalks, and even incorporates play elements (including 26 slides!) to keep your little ones entertained.

18. Jurong Lake Gardens
The family favourite Jurong Lake Gardens is a sprawling park that stretches across 90 hectares of lush green space, and is home to a lake, a swamp forest, as well as plenty of recreational areas. With fun features such as a nature-inspired playground, water sports, a wading pool, serene walking trails, flower gardens, and even gym facilities, it's no surprise that many families pick this as their go-to spot to spend quality time together.

19. Sri Senpaga Vinayagar Temple
A significant religious institution especially for the Hindu community in Singapore, the history of the Sri Senpaga Vinayagar Temple dates all the way back to the late 1800s! It’s certainly hard to miss it with its imposing architecture and design. Despite having gone several reconstructions over the last century, the Sri Senpaga Vinayagar Temple remains standing tall and proud today.
