The One Where You Go To Central Perk
In case you didn’t know, the pilot episode of F.R.I.E.N.D.S aired exactly 25 years ago today, and we can’t help but be nostalgic about it! But instead of typing in your Netflix log-in details to binge-watch the show for the 12th time, you might fancy a visit to an actual Central Perk Cafe to recreate some of your favorite F.R.I.E.N.D.S. scenes.
Yes, you read that right – an actual Central Perk actually exists – AND it’s a lot closer than you think. You don’t have to travel all the way to New York for a sip of their favorite coffee, cause this Central Perk is located in Singapore, which is a decent 3-hour flight away from Manila.
Complete with the team’s favorite dishes and replicas from the hit TV show, the cafe inspired by the show is definitely not one to miss especially for any F.R.I.E.N.D.S fan. If you still need a little bit more convincing – here are a couple more reasons why you should make the trip:
1.Prop replicas that look exactly like the real thing
We’re pretty sure any fan of the show would want to take pictures with any memorabilia from the show. So if you’re nodding yes to this statement, you’ll be glad to know that Central Perk Singapore has got a bunch of replicas from the show you’ll be delighted to take photos with – most especially the infamous orange couch, or Phoebe’s guitar!
2. It’s the only Warner Brothers licensed cafe outside the United States
The only licensed cafe outside the US, Central Perk boasts an interior identical to the coffee shop from the show. From the iconic couch to the bar where Gunther worked, the team at Central Perk spared no detail when recreating sets from their favourite show.
Replicas like Rachel’s runaway wedding dress and the foosball table from Joey and Chandler’s apartment are also on display. Look out for Monica’s kitchen hidden in a corner, stocked with real products. There’s also a retro game machine for those wanting to relive the good old days.
3. Even the menu is F.R.I.E.N.D.S themed
From desserts to coffee and even pizzas, every dish here has a hidden reference for fans.
Central Perk boasts a special coffee menu with 6 different roasts, each named after a character. Choose from a light nutty Phoebe roast or a smoky Chandler roast, depending on your personal taste. The drinks menu also features frappuccinos for those who prefer a non-caffeinated drink.
The main menu is filled with references to the show too. Dishes like Joey’s Fisherman Stew ($38) and Monica’s “Too Much Garlic” Aglio Olio will definitely leave you spoilt for choice. While food may be pricey, it’s definitely worth it!
Craving something sweet? Tuck into the cafe’s must-try dessert, Chandler’s Edible Helium Balloon ($16).
The edible helium balloon is made in front of you, and you can choose from 3 different flavours: Strawberry, Blueberry and Banana and comes with a sponge cake, popping candies and a scoop of ice cream.
Inspired by the classic scene of Chandler singing, the voice distortion effect from the dessert gives a few seconds of fun.
4. You can sign up for trivia night!

Know where Rachel and Monica bought the same apothecary table from? Or how about the name printed on Chandler’s TV Guide? If you know the answer to these and more, make sure you sign up for trivia night! The prizes might not be as good as Monica’s apartment, but we’re sure it’s close.
5. Chandler’s Comedy Night
We all love a good laugh, and Chandler is the king of sarcasm. If you love his humor, then you’ll love Chandler’s Comedy Night – one of the cafe’s star events featuring local comedians. Check their Facebook page for upcoming events!
