    So you're heading out to the Hunter Valley with your mates, but you don't want to leave your beautiful doggo (or cat) at home. Well here at Klook, we love wine and pets just as much as you do. That's why we've rounded up the best wineries to visit if you're wanting to take your furry friend along with you to some tastings!

    Our first pick for pet friendly wineries are the legends over at Hungerford Hill. This winery is a landmark of the Hunter Valley region, with its unique barrel-shaped tasting room and underground working cellar.

    They have a variety of tastings available, from standard tasting for $10 per person, all the way up to what they call the EPIC tasting for $60 per person. The EPIC tasting includes 5 premium wines paired with a few dishes from the legendary MUSE restaurant nearby. What a winner.
    Not only do they do a few amazing single-vineyard red wines, but they also welcome pets.

    2. Pepper Tree Wines

    The folks at Pepper Tree Wines are also dog lovers, and they're second on our list of dog-friendly wineries in the Hunter Valley.
    Dogs are allowed around all the grounds, even inside the cellar door and the special VIP tasting room called The Vault. And there are plenty of places to sniff as it's surrounded by sweet-smelling flower gardens and lush green lawns made for rolling around. You might even see the owner's schnauzer Spence patrolling the grounds.

    3. Leogate Estate Winery

    Established in 2008 by owners Bill & Vicki Widin, Leogate Estate is both a dog-owners slash wine-lovers paradise, and is also a five star winery in Pokolbin, Hunter Valley.
    You may recognise some of the Leogate Wines from Qantas Business & First Class, if you've ever been lucky enough to fly in such luxury. But if you haven't sipper on their wines from 38,000 feet in the air, you can pick-up a few bottles of their stellar lineup of wines at their luxury cellar door.

    4. Tintilla Estate Wines

    Tintilla Estate Wines
    Next up on our list is Tintilla, a dog friendly winery with a great alfresco space for doggos. There's a large deck area at this Tuscan-inspired cellar door where they host their incredible wine tastings, and yes, dogs are allowed.

    There is also a lovely shady spot to chill out in while you taste a selection of single-vineyard wines, olives, tapenades and chutneys. Our advice is to try the gorgeous Sangiovese and Shiraz they have available.

    5. Stomp! Wines

    Stomp! winery is a small, family wine making business in the Hunter Valley. And boy do they love having pets over. Their focus is on providing their patrons an intimate wine tasting experience, with the owners and winemakers themselves hosting the tasting sessions.
    At a time when supporting small Australian business is all the more important, we highly recommend making a stop at these guys when you visit the Hunter Valley with your beloved pet.

    6. Glandore Estate Wines

    Glandore Estate Wines
    Our friends at Glandore Estate have recently introduced some exciting new varieties of wine including Tempranillo, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, and Pinot Grigio. All their wines are handpicked and selected from only the very best parcels of fruit.

    On the property, you'll find two border collies, two boxers, and a black kelpie called Sunny. There's also freshwater tap to keep your doggos hydrated, and they have a stash of tennis balls and other doggie toys to keep your pets entertained while the adults sample a range of reds and whites.

    7. Gundog Estate Wines

    The aptly named Gundog Estate is the next venue on our list of pet-friendly wineries in the Hunter Valley, and we couldn't be more excited to include them. Gundog Estate is usually one of the stops onboard this full-day Hunter Valley tour which you can book right here on Klook.
    The winery is actually named after the family dog, there's a dog on the wine label, and there's a big red dog statue, guarding the entrance to the cellar door so it's no surprise these guys are a dog-friendly cellar door.

    8. Iron Gate Estate

    Iron Gate Estate
    Inspired by the great winemaking traditions of Europe, Iron Gate Estate is a tiny boutique winery in Pokolbin that produces unique, handcrafted wines.
    With a stunning cellar door that looks like something straight out of a Spanish countryside, this winery is certainly one of the most photogenic in the Hunter Valley.

    The friendly staff will happily guide you through the selection of wines at the counter, or you can book ahead for a more personalised group tasting experience on the verandah, weather permitting of course.

    9. Misty Glen Wines

    Misty Glen Wines
    Coming in at number 9 on the list is Misty Glen Wines, a dog friendly winery in the heart of the Hunter Valley. The cellar dogs whose names are Chardonnay, Semillon and Chambourcin welcome you and your own pet for wine tasting when you arrive.
    And you can even stay at the dog friendly accommodation, Misty Glen Cottage. Win!

    They have a wide range of wines including sparkling, dry table wines and even a couple of sweeter wines. Want to spend a little longer at this beautiful slice of the Hunter Valley? Bring a picnic and spend the afternoon with a glass of Misty Glen Wine, maybe even have a game of boules or croquet.

    10. McLeish Wines

    The final spot on our list goes to the family-owned boutique winery, McLeish Estate. They have won numerous awards for their wines, such best in show many times for its Semillon, Chardonnay Verdelho, Shiraz, Cabernet and Merlot. It's also a winner with doggos too.
    Pets won't be stuck at an outdoor hitching post here, as they are welcome to hang out with their owners inside the cellar door. Speaking of inside the cellar, you'll be getting some absolutely top-notch wines in there. McLeish Wines has built a reputation for producing quality wines that have won a range of accolades, both nationally and internationally. This is due to the consistency of the fruit that is produced in the Hunter Valley.
    Afterwards, you can relax outside while your furry friends run around the grounds until they're dog tired.
