End your day trip on a romantic note at Shifen Old Street. Though crowded with tourists, the Shifen Lantern activity is something you absolutely cannot pass up! Purchase your lantern of choice and together with your significant other, write down your wishes and prayers - be it for yourself, family, or for each other. Before you lift it up to the sky, be sure to take a couple photos to look back on!

Night markets are a big thing in Taipei - and the best one is said to be Shilin Night Market. Don’t worry too much about going early; night markets in Taipei are open until the wee hours of the morning. March through rows of food stalls and clothing racks for hours and be sure to leave with a loot! Must-try food include Stinky Tofu, Chicken Cutlets and Castella Cakes!

From January to April, multiple parts of Taiwan are beaming with bright pink cherry blossom trees. One of these areas includes the Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village - a popular sakura district two and a half hours from the city. Though quite a way from Taipei, it offers one of the best Spring experiences in the country.

Just thirty minutes from Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village is yet another stunning location - Sun Moon Lake. A quick walk around in this scenic space will make you feel like you’re worlds away from Taipei with its refreshing mountainous landscapes.
