Reviews
This activity is well worth making the time to do. We travelled from Shinjuku on the Expressway Bus and walked to get to the premises. When doing your design my advice is not to make it too intricate as it is unlikely to be reflected in the finished product - simple designs are best. It's a great momento of your time in Japan and in particular Mt Fuji! They also have the finished product sent to your hotel after it has finished cooling which takes a day or two. Would definitely recommend!
It was a wonderful experience, so much so that I want to do it again next time! As a first timer, glassblowing was really hard but the owner was so patient and he walked you through all of it. We had so much fun, and Okaasan the cat guarded us while we waited. 🥺 you can’t get a better glassblowing experience than this!
A very fun 30 mins workshop learning how to do glassblowing from an experienced master. He was very friendly and patient. Could speak some english some communication wasn't too much of an issue. We got to choose the design we want and customise the colour and was guided from start to finish. 10/10 recommend!
The whole experience was extremely enjoyable! We went in a group of 4 and we loved every second of it! would highly recommend especially if you’re able to drive there! Sensei didn’t speak much english but was very helpful and taught us everything we needed to do. 10/10 experience. would return in the future!
First time doing glass blowing and this course did not disappoint. Instructor was very patient with us and taught us each individually step by step. Everything is provided and we got to make our own Fuji vase, which was delivered to our Tokyo hotel by the next evening. Only thing is this workshop is a little out of Otsuki station, and had to cab there. Otherwise, great stop for a road trip to Fuji area! 10/10 recommend!
The gentleman running the shop is so kind and gentle. It was a blazing hot day, but he had the patience of a saint. He made sure we were safe. He knew a little English, but seemed to really enjoy teaching us the craft regardless. Amazing experience. I would definitely do it again.
BE AWARE this place is very remote! I took the bus up with my partner and it was definitely and adventure. The class itself was amazing, I 100 percent recommend going! The instructor is so kind and easy going. A language barrier sure but a fun experience all around! They do have cats around so if you’re allergic just be careful, they are so sweet and adorable! Also note after you finish making the glass it will need two days to sit and he’ll need to ship it to where you’re staying in Tokyo! I’m so happy about this class I hope you all enjoy this experience and the instructor!
