Self-Guided Wanaka and Hawea Bike Trails Experience

Great driver and instructor imparting lots of knowledge on way to start of ride. Bikes excellent quality as was the helmet. A really easy 34kms with a few inclines but the e-bike coped well with those. In a couple of places the way forward wasn’t always absolutely clear but you can figure it out.

I rented an electric off-road bike (if you don't exercise regularly, it's better to rent an electric bike, otherwise you'll have to go up and down the hills and the gravel road is not easy to ride) but the streams along the way are beautiful and there is almost no shelter in the front half of the mountain bridge to protect against the sun

This is a must-do activity in Wanaka! The scenery is absolutely beautiful, and the bike paths are well-maintained, making it safe to use. While the course is generally downhill, we recommend booking an electric bike if you don't exercise regularly. (We'd also like to inquire where we can view the photos taken before the start.)

It was a lovely experience with a thorough and reassuring briefing and drive-by walkthroughs at the start of the experience before we did any actual cycling. The route was straightforward, safe and incredibly scenic and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We appreciated that the equipment and cycling gear was fairly well maintained and clean, and that the guide gave us recommendations for our lunch stops along the way. We also appreciated the ease of ending the activity; just lock our bikes at a parking station at Wanaka and we were free to proceed with the rest of our day!

The bikes are easy to ride, the routes are clear, the scenery is beautiful, and the itinerary and precautions are clearly explained beforehand, so you can enjoy and experience the tour with peace of mind.
