FAQs

Do I need a visa?

As mentioned in travel requirements section, you will need to apply for an Electronic Visa via the link https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html.

What are the other administrative tasks that needs to be done before the flight?

Aside from the VISA, you will need to fill in the Air Suvidha Self Declaration Arrival Form via the link https://www.newdelhiairport.in/airsuvidha/apho-registration and prepare your COVID Vaccination Certification through http://notarise.gov.sg/vac . It is also best that these forms are printed in hard copy for the flight. Lastly, it is mandatory for all travellers to download the "Aarogya Setu" application on their phone.

Who else will be going on the trip?

The trip’s participants are decided by you! If you would like to travel with Beyond Expeditions to Ladakh under a private tour, we can definitely work something out for you. Alternatively, if you would like to travel with a group of family members, friends, or even strangers, we are happy to help you out as well!

Do I need to be fit?

Participants are not required to be physically fit but it would be highly encouraged for participants to maintain a general level of fitness before the expedition.

What will we eat on the trip? Will there be halal, vegetarian, vegan options?

When you travel to Ladakh, what other food to eat than to eat the authentic Ladakhi cuisine! Of course, if you have any dietary requirements, you can let anyone from Beyond Expeditions' team know and we will ensure that you can experience as much of the Ladakhi cuisine whilst maintaining your dietary preferences. Ladakhi cuisine mostly consists of purely vegetarian food, with Halal, Vegan and Vegetarian options there. However, while most of the food in Ladakh contain halal ingredients, they are not Halal certified.

What will accommodation be like on the trip?

You will be staying in a hotel, guesthouse, tourist camp as well as with local Ladakhi families to experience the true life of Ladakhis. Don’t worry, the locals in Ladakh are extremely friendly and will definitely make you feel at home!

Do I need to bring cash?

Ladakh’s currency is Indian Rupees (₹, otherwise known as INR). As Ladakh is a rather indigenous state in India, it would be best to bring along some cash in the event some shops do not accept cashless payment methods such as Visa or Master.

During this trip, we would recommend bringing about USD$100 to USD$300 for this trip as you may want to purchase several souvenirs to bring home as a memento.

Additionally, the amount recommended (USD$100 - USD$300) will be required to book a one night accomodation in Delhi during the long transit where you may want to stay in the airport lounge or nearby airport hotels within the vicinity.

What are the mandatory immunisations for Ladakh?

In order to enter Ladakh, participants will need to be fully vaccinated — that means booster shot included. No other immunisation records are required as of today.

Do I need to take any COVID-19 tests before entering Ladakh?

Participants are not required to take a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test beforehand. However, upon arrival in Leh, Ladakh, passengers may go through a PCR test at random selection.

What happens if I get COVID-19 in Ladakh?

In the unfortunate event that you contract Covid-19 in Ladakh, you will need to isolate yourself for the next 7 days, using a self-Antigen Rapid Test (self-ART) kit to swab yourself on Day 4 of your isolation. If your self-ART results are negative, you may exit isolation and continue your expedition in Ladakh. However, if your self-ART results are still positive, you will need to continue staying in isolation until Day 7 or until you test negative, whichever is earlier.
