Reviews
it was a tick in the bucket list for this trip to be able to climb Mount Sunday - Edoras, Captial of Rohan in LOTR. Photos were magnificent as the guide provided us with the replica of the weapons for photo shooting.
Thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Views are amazing and Peter is a good guide. Packed lunch was delicious and plentiful. Definitely recommend for LOTR fans.
This has been a fantastic tour! The guide was kind, caring and knowledgeable, the place was beautiful and everything was well planned. Highly recommend!
What a great excersion! A must do day trip. Driver & tour guide Cheryl did a fantastic job with lots of information & detail whenever on the move. Make sure wear a pair of good hiking booth for this trip as the slope might be muddy & slippery not to mention the steep slope all the way up to the top. Nevertheless, ths stop over in Lake Camp & Lake Clearwater was breathtaking! The mirror reflection on the lake was spectacular & completely out of this world! Kudos to Cheryl - Great Job Done!
This was an amazing tour for both LOTR & nature lovers! Make sure you check booking details after purchasing as the pick-up times vary depending on pick up location but klook auto assigns 9am to all pick-up locations (I think that’s why there are a few people complaining that they got picked up late in the reviews.) Nick was an amazing and friendly tour guide with lots of LOTR and New Zealand fun facts. The views were absolutely stunning! 10/10 would recommend if you’re a LOTR fan and love a bit of adventure!
a very nice location to visit even if you’re not a fan of lotr. there’s a bit of a hike, not crazy but you would want shoes with good grip. it gets very windy as well
The guide was so kind and I felt good. I especially liked the fact that he took so many pictures. It was fun and enjoyable, and I also liked that he dropped me off at my hotel. Edoras was especially beautiful. I recommend it.
I joined this trip on May 10, 2025. It was very windy and sunny that day. In the morning, I went to the nearby shuttle hotel to gather. The car was on time. The small episode was that I went to the wrong place to wait at the back door of the hotel. The car was at the front door of the hotel. The tour guide also ran to find me, which was very considerate. I was a little embarrassed to let others wait for me for a few minutes. The attractions along the way are very beautiful, and the tour guide explained the stories related to the filming and shooting of the Lord of the Rings very professionally. He also showed friendliness and concern to everyone, and any questions could be responded to, which made me more impressed with this trip. Especially after walking to the commanding heights on the scene, it was particularly shocking to overlook everything and feel the shooting scene of Edoras. It was amazing how nature could create such amazing scenery, and how the filming team could find this scenery under the technological and traffic conditions at the time. It was also amazing. Photos are far inferior to seeing it with your own eyes. I highly recommend everyone to go to the scene to experience it in person~
The scenery was truly otherworldly, with breathtaking views of ice-covered mountains. The highlight of the trip was the Edoras route, where we visited Mount Sunday and posed with various LOTR weapons. The only downside was the late lunch at around 3:30 pm, which caused some digestion issues.
The tour was absolutely amazing! Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, making every moment enjoyable
