Cassia Bintan Staycation

A great way to spend a birthday weekend with friends. Although there were some hiccups during check-in, the staff resolved it professionally. Kuddos to the friendly staffs who made our stay fun and enjoyable. The foam party and zumba session was so fun and lively. The view from our apartment was great too. The rooms were clean, cosy and homey. Will be back with another group of friends again.

The resort is very near to the ferry terminal, 15 mins ride via the shuttle bus, someone will be waiting for you right outside once you stamped your passport so don’t worry. The beach is clean and not very crowded. The place is secluded so if u want a peace of mins then this is a great choice, please opt in for the ocean view, worth every single cent. Breakfast can be improved, but their menu for lunch and dinner is quite extensive and taste good. Price wise similar like SG, if u travel out of the hotel then can try Warung Yeah, the food there are good too , cheaper than hotel for sure, depending what you like.

Nice trip and well arranged except from the travel agent does not inform us for local guide accompanying tour and time . ( but hotel team and local guide try to help with pleasure. )Other than that , really enjoying and want to visit again soon.

Resort is clean and comfortable. Staffs are warm and friendly. Morning breakfast is decent. Beach is clean and my family loves the place a lot. Definitely will come here again.

Really enjoyed this short getaway, duration wasnt too long but was just right, staff at the resort was really nice and the planned activities as well as tour guide is really good for first timers in bintan as you get to explore the sand dunes as well as the blue lake which was absolutely beautiful, only sad thing is that some things were closed down such as darts and pool table at the resort and the airsoft range treasure bay. Rooms were clean and okay condition however there were some insects and crickets that can be heard at the garden, despite that the private beach as well as resort pool was really good Overall really good getaway definitely will go back to bintan!

we enjoyed our short stay! we got room upgrade and the room is awesome. nicely layout. very functional. all you need in a basic home are available. ❤️❤️❤️

Enjoyed the one day private tour which I did not expect. 3 of us in a 7 seater car. Driver, Hery was friendly and able to communicate in English. He gave us a good insight of the difference between Bintan Lagoi and outside it. ; like why security check points, private roads, staff dormitory, local staff hawker centre etc... Seafood lunch was good; calmari, flower crabs, prawns, vegetables and coconuts. However, the one hour massage at D'Bintan Salon was below expectation. I added n paid for an extra 30min of body scrub. I was charged the published rate plus 15%GST/VAT (Found out later that the VAT is 11%). The masseuse was not well trained. During the body scrub, she didn't seem to know what to do and had to be advised by the masseuse that was massaging my hubby. I even had to remind her to cover me and only expose the part that she's scrubbing! What a let down to a nice one day tour experience.

Hotel was rather near the ferry terminal. There was a sanctuary for cute baby turtles! My only gripe is my room had a lot of ants.

Hotel is supposed to be new but has already started to show signs of age. Dark corridor, lift button not working, fridge was warm, sagging sofa, blackout curtain leaks 🌞, and the list goes on. However the bed and pillows were comfortable so the room is adequate for a good sleep. Hotel staffs were generally enthusiastic and willing to help, special mention Fendi in reception. However, they need more training if Cassia claims itself 5-star. One lady we met couldn't speak English, and another staff almost booked us a 60-min spa without asking us how long we wanted. Food wise is unsatisfactory. Breakfast has mainly carb, afternoon tea set is a few pieces of snack not worth going for unless you need to pass by lobby. The same restaurant opens for lunch and dinner service, but served me sub standard mee goreng - I don't understand how Indonesian mee goreng can be so bland. Don't waste your time in the hotel restaurant ( there's only 1). Banyan tree has good Thai and Indonesian cuisine, and Angsana has Xana served good seafood buffet on Saturday nights. Nearby food delivery is cheaper and better if you don't mind eating in room. In all 3 hotels we received dining discount of 50% as accor plus member which was very much welcomed considering the high price tag. We didn't participate in hotel activities. The programme looks good for nature lovers but we wanted a relaxed holiday. We saw sea turtles which was cute. Would I come back? Probably not. We stayed in next door Banyan Tree after Cassia so the comparison was obvious. Would I recommend Cassia to friends? Yes to younger group. Cassia is great for friends travelling together with good beach and good range of activities.
