I had planned to get here for sunset but never worked out. Even though it was wet it was a clear view of Osaka on the roof top. I got carried away so didn't get chance to eat a proper meal so was great could get a snack and a sakura ice cream, which was very delicious. To top it off got to wat whilst taking in the view. There is also a souvenir shop and if stamp collecting is part of your trip there is a stamp book in the shop

Visiting the Umeda sky building was a great experience and the price was well worth it. There is an inside observation area with cafe and you can also go out to an open roof. They offer a photo souvenir service as well as fun gotcha machines.
There was a long line inside the building before entering the escalator that takes you to the actual observatory tower. But the wait was totally worth it. There are so many points to capture great photos-from the escalator to the first floor of the tower and to the top. The view is breathtaking, especially at night time with all the bright city lights below. It’s amazing to see Osaka from another perspective. If you want to purchase the engraved heart locks, buy them here on this app because they won’t sell it to you in person. Must be online. I would also recommend going on a clear day. I booked this months in advance and was lucky that it was the only clear day of the rainy week. We went to a different observatory in Tokyo on a cloudy night and couldn’t see a thing.
Easy access to Umeda Sky Building. There is a long line for the elevator but they have handled it very well. took about 15-25mins waiting. But once you are on top, the Osaka skyline is so good! we had catch it on a sunset and it is wonderful! had a good matcha drink also. Thank you Klook!
Super easy process when checking in and the view was amazing! The staff was very friendly and helped to take pictures of us. There are also elevators that allow you to go directly down from the very top of the building. Super worth it!
highly recommend this location to go to after dark so the sky is lit up. it’s an easy walk from the local train station and you can stop for dinner on the way back to the train at one of the many restaurants nearby. The views are spectacular the ride up the tower in the clear sided elevator are incredible. excellent cheap activity suitable for all ages.

Is there a garden on Umeda Sky Building?

There is no real garden in the Observatory. It is named the KUCHU TEIEN OBSERVATORY, as we want you to feel like Osaka's cityscape and the sky viewed from the Observatory is your garden.

If I want to travel by train to the Umeda Sky Building, which train station should I alight at?

  • From JR Osaka Station, exit the "Renrakubashi Exit" ticket gate on the third floor of JR Osaka Station and go right to "Central North Exit," walking for approximately 7 minutes.
  • From Umeda Station, exit the "North Ticket Gate" of Osaka Metro Midosuji Line Umeda Station and go left. Turn right at the pharmacy and go towards Yodobashi Umeda, walking for approximately 9 minutes.
  • From Osaka-umeda Station, exit "Chaya-machi Exit Ticket Gate" of Hankyu Osaka Umeda Station and go right, walking for approximately 9 minutes.
  • From Osaka-Umeda Station, take the Hanshin train and walk for about 13 minutes.

Is the Observatory open in the rain?

Yes, the Observatory remains open even in the rain. However, for safety reasons, umbrellas are not allowed on the rooftop floor. In case of heavy rain, the rooftop floor may be closed. The Umeda Building is open daily from 9:30 AM to 10:30 PM.

Is the re-entry allowed?

Re-entry is not allowed. You can enter the Observatory only once. Thank you for your understanding.
