Gion Kawakami (祇園川上) in Kyoto Gion

This place it can make you feel the Japan's transitional culture. The food also is so delicious. At the same time, I saw many local Japanese people go to this restaurant to eat. However, none of the clerks or chefs in the restaurant have very good English communication skills, but don’t be afraid of failing to communicate, all the clerks or chefs will treat the guests very warmly.

Located in Gion, the flower path is very convenient. Kyoto Kaiseki cuisine requires reservation in advance. For Chinese people, Klook’s set meal options are still very good. As for the food itself, I personally don’t think it is too amazing. Fortunately, the ingredients are fresh and the presentation is very good. The dishes are exquisite and the taste is light. Unfortunately, due to the language barrier, there is almost no communication with the chef. The service of the clerk is good. Anyway, I am quite satisfied.

There is no menu for Michelin cuisine, Klook orders a set meal and includes restaurant reservations. When you arrive, you only need to show the order voucher or state your name to experience kaiseki cuisine easily.

Good traditional Japanese Gion food experience with reasonable price!

The restaurant is in Gion, the waiters understand simple English, and there is no problem in communication. There was a typhoon on the day we originally booked, and there is no problem changing the day. The food is delicious and worth recommending.

A restaurant with great atmosphere and quality food. The ingredients are fresh and the flavors are innovative but not exaggerated. The food display is also full of thought. Very satisfied.

meal was okay, not superb as had better kaiseki. Child bento set (not pictured) wasn't really ideal for our 4.5yo, but they topped up her rice and miso for free. a good experience for those experiencing Kaiseki for the first time. maybe due to language barrier there was not much explanation of what was being served. in a nice location in Gion which is worth exploring.

On the side of the small road in Huajian, the environment of the box is quiet, the dishes are exquisitely prepared, and the meals are exquisite. It is great to take the children to experience lunch.
