A dream collaboration of legends in the world of shojo manga!!
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the National Art Center, Tokyo, an exhibition will be held tracing the artistic careers of Moto Hagio, Ryoko Yamagishi, and Wakako Yamato—three artists who pioneered the landscape of shojo manga and created masterpieces that have been read across generations. In the 1970s, shojo manga underwent a dramatic evolution. This exhibition traces the creative journeys of these three artists, who were at the heart of this movement, through their works from their early debuts to the present day. Through beautiful color illustrations, original drawings of memorable scenes, and a wealth of valuable materials, the exhibition delves into their profound world of expression. This exhibition marks the first large-scale shojo manga exhibition to be held at a national art museum.
