Doha Private Half-Day Desert Safari with Dune Bashing & Camel Ride

I am a tourist from China, and my tour guide was Mr. Anees. The desert dune bashing tour led by Anees was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Anees himself is an enthusiastic, talkative, honest guide with superb driving skills. My itinerary started at 5:00 PM. Beforehand, Anees contacted me via WhatsApp and email to confirm the details (it was originally scheduled for the evening, but Anees suggested moving it up to 5:00 PM, which I gladly accepted). After picking me up, we drove an SUV toward the southern desert. Along the way, we chatted constantly, and he introduced me to the architecture and scenery we passed, such as oil and gas facilities and desert air defense missile positions. Learning that I hadn't eaten lunch, had no cash, and that my bank card wouldn't work at local convenience stores and restaurants, Anees kindly stopped at a gas station to buy food for me. Upon reaching the desert, I first went camel riding; the cost was included in my tour package, so no extra payment was required. Afterward, we began dune bashing, driving deep into the desert with the vehicle rising and falling over the dunes—it was very thrilling. However, since it was already dark by the time we started dune bashing, we missed the desert sunset, and the visual experience wasn't as good as during the day. But the advantage of a nighttime tour is that you get to admire the desert night sky and its brightest stars. Finally, we arrived at the coast to try sandboarding, which was also a lot of fun! Then we headed back to Doha, and Anees thoughtfully dropped me off near Souq Waqif so I could continue exploring Doha at night. If I ever visit Doha again, I will definitely ask Anees to be my guide.

A very fun and interesting and great experience. I highly recommend it as it’s really different to Dubai. Khan is a good tour guide too so that’s great.
