VASARA Kimono and Yukata Rental in Kurashiki

When we traveled to Kurashiki, we chose the yukata experience located above the convenience store. The staff were very friendly and helped us choose a suitable yukata style. You can also pay extra to have your hair styled. If you're visiting Kurashiki and want to feel like a local, you can try the yukata experience; you'll be able to take some beautiful photos! We even had foreign tourists take pictures with us, which was a special experience. It must have been because the kimono yukata were so beautiful! 😻

This is a kimono rental chain with locations in various regions of Japan. Their professional staff are friendly and helpful. We paid an additional fee of approximately 60,000 KRW. It would be helpful to have detailed information about the various options available on Klook. We used a rental car to visit Okayama Castle and Korakuen Garden. Since the return time for the clothing is 5:30 PM, an itinerary that includes Kurashiki, Okayama Castle, and Korakuen seems reasonable.

This time, we booked a parent-child kimono experience. Although there were many add-on charges on-site, I figured since we were already here, and the lace obi I liked was the prettiest here, it was worth it. ❤️ Thank you to the staff for their kind service; even though we had children with us, they were not impatient at all! We were there on 5 April for our 5-yo daughter. The services were amazing, couldn’t have asked for more! The location is a big plus as it’s just an easy walk of 2 minutes from the riverside.

First of all, the location here is not clearly marked, the location given is wrong, and it took a lot of time to find the way. Second, there are many additional cost items, and I think they should be clearly stated in the package. Third, the technique of wearing a kimono is not very good. The holes under the armpits of the kimono are facing forward, which is not very beautiful, so you have to pay attention to moving your sleeves back. Fourth, there are not enough staff, and even if you make an appointment, you still need to wait for about 30 minutes. Fifth, there are relatively few styles of kimonos to choose from, especially the trendy lace styles, which are really rare to choose from. Sixth, the most expensive hairstyle added to the shopping cart is totally unsatisfactory and does not match the picture. I have tried similar hairstyles in other places before, and this hairstyle is totally not worth adding to the shopping cart. If you want to wear a kimono, I suggest you go to Kyoto. The CP value this time is very low.

The staff was very attentive. Although there weren't a huge variety of kimono styles, there were many different patterns available, so I was still able to find one I liked. The kimonos were all in excellent condition and looked very new. The hair and makeup service was also very quick. Overall, the service was professional and thoughtful, making for a wonderful experience! Even when I was leaving, after changing back into my own clothes, my hair was a bit messy in the back (I couldn't see it myself), and a staff member proactively and carefully helped me fix it, which made the experience even better!

The store owner is very gentle and won't forcefully sell products with increased prices, but they are so attractive that I can't help but want to spend extra money for hair and hair accessories! In the end, the mother and daughter each added 1,100 yen for hair styling and 550 yen for hair accessories. They were very happy!

We had a party of 4 adults and 1 child. We adults had a great time. What you pay for is a basic kimono choice and basic hairstyle. You can pay about 5 more to upgrade your hairstyle or about ten more to upgrade your kimono to a more expensive and fancy design. When we arrived at exactly 9am, they were just finishing dressing an older Japanese woman, which tells me that kimono can be a fun experience for people of all ages and that the shop is well equipped with styles to match a variety of needs. We ourselves had a toddler and called the shop in advance to book a kimono package for her. Her package was about 90 US. But it was totally worth it because she was so cute and adorable and she loved it. She walked around all day in her wooden geta and never complained. She did not want to change into her shoes from home. Our adult feet did get a bit tired after over 3 hours of walking in the modern geta (they were padded and should not be a problem for just a simple day), but we were walking quite a bit for extended periods with little rest. So if you know that is already going to be a problem for you, I suggest you plan ahead and bring from home some comfortable shoes/slippers that will look nice/match with a kimono.

The service staff are very attentive and considerate, and you won't feel like you're being forced to sell overpriced merchandise. Basically there are simple hair ties and hair accessories. The ones I purchased are all basic styles without any extra charges. You can take a look at them for reference!
