What to expect
Step into a serene Osaka studio to experience Tenkoku—the 1,400-year-old art of Japanese seal engraving.
First, select your perfect stone from our curated collection. Our expert English-speaking instructor will then help you translate your name into beautiful Kanji or design a unique symbol.
Next, pick up the professional tools and carve your design into the stone. It is completely beginner-friendly with step-by-step guidance. You can also add an optional, colorful design to the side of your stone on-site.
To wrap up, press your finished Hanko into traditional red ink. You will walk away with a unique, hand-carved souvenir to take home the same day!

What a fun way to experience Osaka! I loved learning about the history behind stamps in Japan and the materials we were going to use before being guided through the carving process. The instructor was kind and knowledgeable and helped give me some ideas and options for what I could carve. All the materials were ready to go so I could just sit down and start! I love having a souvenir I made to take home with me.
The Stamp Making Experience was fantastic! Gwen was very friendly, patient, and helpful throughout the entire process. She gave us a brief history lesson about Hanko, which was interesting and highlighted the cultural significance of what we were about to craft. With her guidance, we translated our names into kanji and carved them into our soapstone blocks. We had a fabulous time and absolutely love our unique souvenirs! No experience is required.
incredible process and Kazuki was incredibly helpful during the entire process and helped out any time we needed! it was a lot of fun for me and my girlfriend to do and this will for sure sit as a highlight for our trip!
Masaki was a great guide through this very enjoyable workshop. My daughter and I have been collecting Eki stamps across Japan and to have the chance to make a personalised stamp of our own was a lot of fun. Arigato, Masaki! We would recommend this for value for money!
