THE VIOLINIST 沧海琴声
A sweeping historical drama spanning 80 years,The Violinist follows two childhood friends whose lives are forever altered by war, love, and the enduring power of music. As a Spanish reporter seeks to uncover the mystery behind an aging violin legend and her treasured instrument, a forgotten story of love, war, and music begins to emerge. In 1930s Singapore, childhood friends Fei and Kai are bound by an extraordinary gift for music and a shared dream of performing on the world’s greatest stages. But as war and the Japanese occupation tear through Southeast Asia, their lives are shattered. Kai is drawn into the resistance but entrusts his violin to Fei with the promise of returning. Across decades, Fei rises to become a celebrated violinist, yet her music remains haunted by the friend she lost and the past she cannot escape. Until one day… The Violinist is an epic animated story about friendship, sacrifice, and the enduring power of music to carry memory through even the darkest of times.

Bought tickets here and then on GV site to secure seats. Paid an additional fee of $2 when buying tickets from GV site. This additional fee is waived if buying over the Ticketing Counter. Movie is great in most aspects (kinship & friendship story lines) except the flow of love lines.. nevertheless amazing work for a first movie!
was a really goid local gilm. would recommend to everyone to watch a late night movie wuth friends and family!
interesting and fun. I like it. the crowd was hugh as I attended on the first day. food n drinks from outside not allowed but you can purchase snacks and drinks after you have checked in. ushers are very helpful. most importantly I enjoyed the show n laughed all the way. will come again.
I think the show exceeded my expectations for a local production. Annette is doing an excellent job for a first-time director. Kudos to her and her team for producing such a stunning performance. I look forward to seeing her second film in the near future. Sharing photos of lunch after the show. 😜
we couldn’t redeem the ticket from the cinema’s kiosk. only at the counter but it was fuss free. the storyline has local flavour of a mixture of mandarin, English, Hokkien languages. it was very heart warming overall. well done!
I've not been to the cinema in yearssss but here I am going to support Annette Lee and Mark Lee (wait, are they related?). I was very entertained throughout the movie, it was heartwarming with many familiar faces appearing (people that I follow on social media doing comedy skits lol). Can only use at standard GV theatres ok, not Gemini, Gold Class etc.. but I wish they allowed to choose any class then users can top up $ accordingly for the premium theatres. Thanks gahmen for the free tix! And look forward to more great work from Singapore filmmakers!
support local productions! quite enriching and tailored to singaporean scene with all the actors engaged
This is a good movie. I went in without any expectations and I didn't know what this movie is about at all. I just watched with my partner becos we both wanted to watch a movie and after the movie, I think even without culture pass was worth paying for it. IMO, the story plot is way better than any jack neo's recent times movies and highly recommend to those who are up for a good local movie. It's even featured on Mothership and the local news so why not give it a go? the best is still culture pass can be used for the movie.
is worth watching and support local show. but kind of ex $16 per tix however using culture pass so is ok to go and watch with your family as it is free end of the day we pay nothing for it. is hassle free to buy via klook.
Tickets using culture pass are twice the price than if you just buy from counter. Show was okay. Alot of the show was in Mandarin. Cinema needs a clean.
