What to expect
Today we will visit three wonderful attractions or experiences, namely the Miho Museum (we will visit Omihachiman on closed days), Mii-dera Temple, and the Lake Biwa Canal, to show you the unique charm of cherry blossoms in Shiga City! Now, let's begin this wonderful journey.
First stop: Miho Museum, I.M. Pei's "Shangri-La" design, a cherry blossom tunnel brings an artistic and poetic encounter with spring. Away from the city, the most special thing is that 80% of the building is buried in the mountains. The Miho Museum is closed on March 31, April 7, and April 14, during which time we will visit Omihachiman, where you can experience the Edo atmosphere and waterside romance of the cherry blossom season.
Second stop: Mii-dera Temple - the head temple of the Tendai sect, a secret realm of a thousand-year-old Buddhist temple in the cherry blossom season. This ancient temple is famous for its profound history, rich cultural heritage, and Buddhist atmosphere. However, what truly makes Mii-dera Temple a treasure in the hearts of tourists is its magnificent cherry blossom season. There are more than 1,000 Somei Yoshino cherry trees and wild cherry trees in full bloom on the temple grounds.
Third stop: Lake Biwa Canal - the water of hope connecting Kyoto and Otsu, strolling through the rhythm of the cherry blossom tunnel. When spring comes, the cherry blossoms along the Lake Biwa First Canal are in full bloom, forming a spectacular flower path. Cherry trees line both sides of the waterway, and white and pink flowers sway in the spring breeze, like a dreamy sea of flowers.
These three cherry blossom viewing areas will allow you to experience the unique charm of the limited Shiga City cherry blossom season and will become an unforgettable part of your memory. Come join us and enjoy the fun of the Shiga cherry blossom tour!
Pre-trip notice: The day before departure, between approximately 18:00 and 21:00, we will send detailed guide and vehicle information by email, so please be sure to check it in time.

Reviews
I booked a few one-day trip on Klook this time and this one is the best. the guide Elle is a very sweet girl who doesn’t talk much but provide all the essential information. Both the museum and the temple are very beautiful, an unforgettable day!
Miho museum is a beautiful place with excellent architecture and superb nature merged harmoniously. definitely worth visiting! The temple and the canal would have been more attractive with Sakura in full bloom. still a nice place to visit.
Elle was an absolute joy to have as our tour guide! Full of energy and youthful enthusiasm, she brought such a fun and vibrant vibe to the entire trip. Her positivity was infectious, and she made every moment more enjoyable. Highly recommend Elle if you want a tour that’s both well-guided and full of great energy!
The itinerary was good, but the tour guide's instructions weren't very clear.
No car arrived, and no one contacted us. There were no messages on Line or WeChat, and the entire trip was ruined.
