Yogyakarta All-Time Favorites Private Day Tour (Per Car Basis)

I was able to do everything from transfers to the tour itself as a solo traveler on a private tour. I highly recommend it for solo travelers. They were able to change the Pindul Cave tour to a boat type (no getting wet) for me 🙏. If you plan to stick with the original itinerary, it's best to bring a swimsuit, a change of clothes, and a towel. The jeep and gondola experience at Timang Beach was amazing! There were quite a few Chinese tourists at Timang Beach, and the staff spoke a little Chinese. Our guide was very knowledgeable about plants, making it a very interesting tour!

I love it so much! This is my first time joining a tour, I took the private day tour so it was only me and my driver (Pak Hotma) who is very kind, friendly and he helped me take my photos since I am a solo traveller. We went up to Borobudur temple together because I wanted to experience it with him. During my Jeep tour to active volcano Mount Merapi, he patiently waited for me for 2 hours while I finish my tour. He also brought me to the most delicious restaurant ever and we had such a great time. He is also a very good driver (I fell asleep after all my tours in his car) and he was very punctual. For the tour, I only needed to buy Borobudur temple ticket (online, they will help you) and the Jeep tour ticket (at the counter). 10000% would recommend.

The tour included regular time Borobudur Temple visit, Mendut Temple and Prambanan Temple visit. We bought the structure ticket which already included a guide from the heritage site. Mendut Temple was unfortunately under maintenance, so our guide switched and brought us to Plaosan Lor Temple instead, which we think is much imposing than Mendut Temple. We were given 2-3 hours visit time each at Borobudur and Prambana, so no worries you can have enough time for exploring both heritage sites. The tour was originally planned to end at 1600, but our guide was so kind he allowed us to finish our visiting until 1730 without any extra fees. Our guide Noor was nice and introduced a lot of things about the heritage and Yogyakarta itself. For lunch, Noor brought us to a restaurant nearby Borobudor. The food was delicious and we had over 1 hour to rest there. Overall we highly recommend this tour with its flexible schedule.

Driver will contact you before the trip. My driver is friendly and helpful. I bought the Borobudur and Prambanan tickets online and print out the QR code. My driver helped me redeem tickets for me. My suggestion is to buy tickets in advance and secure the early time slot for Borobudur temple. I enjoy the whole trip and recommend this to everyone. However, one thing annoying is that you need to pay parking fees for all attractions.

we were picked up on time and taken to Punthuk Setumbu for sunrise. it was amazing to have a view of Borobudur temple and Mt Merapi in the distance. then we were taken yo Mendut and Pawon temple before going up yo the top of the beautiful Borobudur temple. finally we went to Prambanan temple then back to hotel. it was a titing day full of walking but it was worth it

This tour is great. My driver Mr. Wawan picked me up at the hotel just right on time and took me to Mendut Temple, Borobudur and Prambanan and he waited for me patiently at each temple and he was just great.

Our driver, Nur, was on time and super accommodative. He shared some local insights as we drove to our locations and suggested food to get as well. He was also attentive and guided to our locations clearly. Recommended. Merapi and Borobudur were both beautiful locations. Truly enjoyed it.

It was a private transfer for us till we reached Borobudur in which a professional guide took over. Mendut Temple is still under renovation, however, we still went and to visit a monastery nearby. An enjoyable trip indeed!

I traveled solo, and when booking for one person, it seems a separate driver comes, making it private. It was great that the driver spoke English. The Borobudur sunrise was too expensive, so I received alternative sunrise viewing options from other hills (via email) in advance, and I chose a hill. However, the bathrooms in Borobudur, and generally throughout Yogyakarta, are not good, so if you are sensitive, you should adjust your food intake (they are not Western-style toilets and you have to flush with a bucket of water...). It rained a lot on the day, making it difficult to see the sunrise, so I think it was a good decision not to choose the Borobudur sunrise. If you come down after seeing the sunrise from the hill, small cafes start to open, so it is possible to sit at a cafe and watch the sunrise while drinking coffee (coffee is about 3,000 won). Borobudur was so great that Prambanan was relatively unimpressive, so I felt like I wasted some money (Borobudur 455,000, Prambanan 400,000). Because of the slippers they provide, the tops of my feet were all scraped, so it would be good to prepare athlete's foot socks...

The photos come out really well. Borbudur Sunrise is not possible. Foreigners are not allowed to enter during that time. So, we guide you to the sunrise course on the surrounding hills. Of course, about 20,000 rupiah for a fee. Please note that there is a discount if you have a student ID/international student ID. Incidental expenses are a bit high for foreigners.
