Chongqing Tianyan Cave Rock Descent/Via Ferrata

Had an enjoyable day with this activity. The rappelling was surprisingly easy and not scary at all. The via ferrata was a little more challenging, especially for taller people, as some sections require bending around protruding cliff rocks to get to the other side. The cave is beautifully lit with colourful lighting, and the Buddha statue against the cave backdrop makes the whole place look mysterious and impressive. The photoshoot went smoothly, with photographers guiding us on different poses. However, drone photography is not included and costs extra. My only disappointment, which I’ve noticed at other attractions in China, is that ladies seem to get more poses, angles and creative shots, while guys are given a few simple poses and the session ends quickly. pick up from hotel by the driver. takes about 1.5 hour each way to the Tianyan cave. there is an option to pay to add for a drone MV video shoot 240 rmb if needed at the entrance. the safety of the equipment and all is good. it's a slow descent, and the photographer is down there snapping away. also do remember no bags allowed to bring. leave in vehicle. the via ferrata I skip, thank God, cuz the course is really long, although there are points where you can decide to stop. the lunch hotpot is okay, and there are drinks you can buy at the cave. only complain is the male driver, bad driving skills, very slow.

Everything was perfect! The driver was very friendly; he contacted us the day before and picked us up at the hotel at 8:00 AM. The drive is long, but he played music for us and allowed us to stop for photos. The experience with the Buddha was quick but incredible. The photographer tells you how to pose, and the entire photo process is fast; we received the photos the same day in the afternoon. We didn't try the hotpot because it was 11 AM when we finished the photos, and we had a late breakfast, but the dining area is beautiful! The driver waited for us in the same spot where he dropped us off and took us back to the hotel. The experience is short but incredible, totally worth it!

Tian'an Cave is quite a distance from downtown Chongqing. If you're traveling alone or with one other person, it's more convenient and better to buy tickets through Trip.com and then hire a driver separately, rather than arranging transportation on your own. It's located in the mountains, about an hour and a half from Zazhou Station. I'm not sure how the driver managed it, but they contacted me via WeChat the day before. Even though I couldn't speak Chinese or English, we communicated through body language, took photos, and enjoyed a delicious hotpot meal right up to the cave entrance. The Via Ferrata is more challenging than expected, but it's great fun taking photos of each other. After finishing the Via Ferrata, there's also a cave lake at the end. I also received photos and videos via WeChat, which allowed me to get some amazing shots. Therefore, WeChat is essential.

Pick up from Jiazhou Road Station exit 3B car park, it took about 1.7 hours to Tianyan cave. I bought without the Via Ferrata and onsite added RMP100 for it before walk to the cave. To me it is a easy via ferrata course. You can complete half of the course. The lunch hotpot had stopped some times ago. The drive was friendly and explain to us what to expect in the cave.

quick trip photo shoot felt rushed and you need to pay attention because this little to know English speaking so you’re going to have to watch the prompts that they do and also don’t sit on the benches inside the cave it’s so dirty. I try to tell the photographer while trying to clean myself off from drit on me from the bench and it’s like he didn’t care, my pictures came up with the stain all over. probably have to pay to take the shuttle back, but it’s not a far walk back to the check-in point. Driver was polite and professional.
