Weston Wetlands Monkey, Sunset & Fireflies Cruise

Highly recommended to join this tour! As per our guide Dudy, it is higher chance to see proboscis monkey and fireflies at Weston compared to other mangrove site but the only downside is the journey is abit longer around 2 hr 30 mins drive. however we felt that it was worth the travel. We managed to spot a few groups of proboscis monkey, bushes of fireflies, spectacular sunset with a wild crocodile (tho was very cloudy) and teatime & dinner was great too.

The tour guide will pick you up on time and will explain the itinerary at the beginning. During the driving process, he will also introduce the street scenes and buildings or Malaysian culture. On the monkey tour, the boatman not only helped to find monkeys, but also helped take photos, and eventually saw more than 20 monkeys. On the firefly tour, the boatman attracted fireflies and even caught a few for us to watch. We saw a whole piece of firefly. During the process, it was just sunset, so the boatman stopped in the middle of the river to let us watch the sunset and take photos. The whole trip was very enjoyable. I really recommend purchasing this trip! !

The local guide contacted me via WhatsApp to coordinate the pickup time and location for the tour, which was very timely and efficient! Although it started with a heavy downpour that day, we were lucky enough to see several proboscis monkeys up close, constantly eating, right after setting sail! The ever-changing sunset scenery after the rain was breathtaking, and the amazing fireflies we saw after dark were equally stunning and unforgettable! Although the journey was a bit long and bumpy, it was definitely worth the trip and the price!

The tour guide Victor was kind and friendly. We took a special car to pick us up directly at the hotel. Although the journey took about 2.5 hours, we were able to see several groups of proboscis monkeys and feel the atmosphere of a rainforest jungle adventure. Although it was stormy and we couldn't see the sunset, the romantic and dreamy atmosphere of the fireflies at night was really beautiful!

We had an amazing experience with our guide Dudy — funny, knowledgeable, and great at spotting Proboscis Monkeys. We were lucky to see several groups, including the dominant male with his long nose and white tail. The tour was respectful to nature, and avoiding mosquito repellent helped us enjoy the fireflies too. Despite the long travel, it was absolutely worth it. Thanks our guide Dudy for his insights and professionalism! By the way, I hope not to see young crocodiles with their mouths tied on future visits — I’d much rather see them freely in their natural river habitat.

It's well worth coming. Although it's far away, I heard that you can definitely see monkeys here, and the sunset and fireflies are amazing.

excellent tour! the ride to and from weston was very long, but we knew this would be the case when we signed up for the tour. it was a new and comfortable vehicle. Both Jonas, our tour guide, and Victor, our driver were fantastic. Jonas was knowledgeable and friendly, and Victor took the initiative to help us (gently) catch fireflies during the cruise. My young children (4 and 2) loved that so much. We enjoyed seeing the proboscis monkeys, quite a number of them! they even helped me to prepare a special birthday surprise for my brother. Jonas helped me bring out the cake and Victor took pictures and videos for us. They did such a great job. Thank you so much!

Although the journey was bumpy and long (2.5 hours one way), we saw dozens of wild proboscis monkeys, long-tailed macaques, crocodiles, beautiful sunsets and evening glow, and starry sky and fireflies at night! The tour guide Dudy is very talkative and humorous, I highly recommend this trip!

We took a bumpy bus ride for over two hours to Weston. We originally thought we'd just be seeing the coast, but we ended up going quite far. However, our tour guide was very dedicated and responsible, always smiling and with a great attitude. There were five people in our group, and we had bilingual explanations the whole way. We even got to touch a small crocodile. The afternoon tea and dinner were both delicious. If it were just about seeing monkeys, this trip would have been quite boring, but thankfully the fireflies at night were very beautiful, and the sunset was spectacular. It was worth the long trip, and it was a very wonderful experience overall. The only regret is not bringing a camera to take pictures of the monkeys and the swarms of fireflies at night. We could only see them with our own eyes; the photos didn't turn out well. Thanks to our tour guide.
