What to expect

Hello! Welcome to the Gunma seasonal travel guide. Below is a detailed introduction to the Fukiware Falls, Harada Farm fruit picking, and many other scenic spots and experiences, hoping to help you plan a rich and colorful trip ~ — 🌊 Fukiware Falls (Special Note: According to the official website, the Fukiware Falls promenade will be closed for winter from December 4th. After the closure, you can still visit the Rokkakudo, but because the stairs are slippery and there are safety risks, please travel to Kawagoe from December 7th to April 1st) — Known as the “Little Niagara of the Orient”, the 7-meter high and 30-meter wide rushing waterfall washes over the rocks, with different scenery in each season! In spring and summer, the water volume is abundant, and in autumn, maple leaves adorn the waterfall, making it breathtakingly beautiful 🍁🍃. 🍓 Harada Farm Fruit Picking (available all year round) — Fresh fruits are fragrant all year round: strawberries from December to May, cherries from June to July, blueberries from July to August, peaches from August to September, grapes from September to October, and apples from October to December, all sweet and juicy! Pick and eat on the spot, and enjoy the charm of the fruit kingdom. 🍂 The following are seasonal attractions ♨️ Ikaho Onsen Stone Step Street (April-June & September-November) — Climb 365 stone steps 🪜 and explore the ancient hot spring sanctuary. The golden hot spring nourishes the body and mind. Stroll through the old streets to find hot spring steamed buns 🥟, and check out the ancient streetscape written by Natsume Soseki. 💜 Tamahara Lavender Park (July-August) — Kanto’s largest lavender flower sea, with 50,000 purple romantic dream blooms 💐. Explore the trails, take a break at the cafe ☕️, and overlook the purple wave-like beauty on the hillside. We recommend taking the flower field cable car (fee not included) to admire the endless flower sea from the air! ❄️ Tanbara Ski Park Snow Play (December-March) — A winter wonderland 🏂, no skiing experience required, a snow park ⛄️ specially designed for families. Play with snow basins, sleds, and snow bumper cars, build snowmen, have snowball fights, and experience the magical charm of winter in Gunma! (Includes admission & snow basin) ✨ Travel Tips * The experience content varies depending on the season: enjoy hot springs in spring and autumn, flower fields in summer, snow in winter, and fruit picking all year round. * Recommended food: Lavender ice cream (500 yen) 🍦, fresh floral fragrance, a must-try in summer. * Make a wish at Ikaho Shrine 🙏, climb to the top of the 365 steps 🪜, and receive good luck! 🍀

Review for: Winter: Daewon Snow Park Snow Play Package

Trip was enjoyable. There were some changes in the schedule as some places are closed and some are packed with other visitors but our tour guide replaced the itenerary with other enjoyable activities. in the end we still got our money’s worth.

Review for: Summer: Tambara Lavender Tour

Since it was a small group, there was no flag, and it was almost impossible to find our group among all the others when we arrived. On July 19th, we picked blueberries. Although it wasn't the peaches we were expecting, the blueberry picking experience was still great, but the 30-minute time limit for fruit picking was a bit short. The tour guide was fantastic! I forgot my power bank on the bus, and they even brought it to me afterward. I'm so grateful!

Review for: Spring & Autumn: Ikaho Onsen Itinerary

There were only four of us that day, and our guide, Chen, was very dedicated and thorough. He even helped us arrange fruit picking, which was originally fully booked. Highly recommended!

Review for: Spring & Autumn: Ikaho Onsen Itinerary

The tourist spot was nice, and the Fukiware Falls' water flow was interesting. Fruit picking was a highlight, although we picked apples that day, and two were enough to fill us up, let alone all-you-can-eat! The hot spring stone steps street also had some interesting little shops, but the overall trip had the following drawbacks: 1. The tour guide's communication before and on the day of the tour was very unclear, requiring travelers to constantly search for the meeting vehicle themselves. 2. The tour guide didn't guide at all and only functioned as a driver. They didn't introduce the attractions, and their language skills were poor, requiring travelers to translate English for other travelers. 3. One of the attractions was closed that day, which wasn't investigated beforehand, resulting in travelers taking an unnecessary car ride. The only saving grace was that the tour guide drove relatively smoothly and promptly fulfilled requests for restrooms. Overall, it was probably the most unguided day trip I've ever taken ><

Firstly, the time allocation for the entire activity was inappropriate. We didn't purchase admission tickets in advance for the ski resort, which resulted in a lot of wasted time waiting for the guide to buy tickets. Furthermore, the guide didn't tell us where any of the facilities were located within the ski resort; we had to find them ourselves. After skiing, we went strawberry picking, but again there was a ticket purchase issue. We waited on the tour bus again for the guide to buy tickets. Originally, we were supposed to have 30 minutes for strawberry picking and 60 minutes for free lunch arrangement. But in the end, we only had 30 minutes to pick strawberries and no lunch. Finally, we spent about 2 hours at Kawagoe Ichiban-gai Street, but there was nothing to do there. Only 15 minutes were given to us to buy food throughout the whole day, and the entire experience was terrible!
