The tour group was huge (40) and other than myself, the rest were Chinese domestic tourists. So definately not for non english speakers. The Cruise was a waste of time. Other than that, the Wuling area and project 816 were very interesting to visit. I would recommend booking a more private tour as I did that the day before for a day trip to the Wulong area and it was fantastic.

If you're from Hong Kong, I'd advise against joining this tour. The service provided for this price is not worth it. The quality of mainland tour groups is very low; people don't queue, they cut in line, spit everywhere, and don't use serving chopsticks when eating. I had already told the tour guide beforehand that we needed serving chopsticks, and the guide said they had instructed the restaurant to provide them. It's truly laughable; the serving chopsticks were the same color and style as the regular chopsticks, and there was no emphasis on everyone from different places dining civilly and hygienically. When the guide saw I was upset, they just told the waiter to quickly bring us a couple of dishes. I was really angry. The arrangements were poor, and the guide didn't even apologize to me. I inquired with several local bus tour companies, and they all offered group meals for 280-316 RMB per person. Smaller, private groups of 5-7 people cost 468 RMB per person.

The tour guide didn't take much care of us throughout the whole trip. The tour bus was quite old, the seats were uncomfortable, and the hygiene was poor. There were performances on the cruise ship, but unfortunately they were too noisy and chaotic. When visiting 816, too many people followed the tour guide around and I couldn't hear the explanation at all.
