Starting with a boat ride, the tour guide took me to areas not listed in guidebooks, including ghats, temples, and local chai stalls. On top of that, I was able to tour around safely and securely without being overcharged. It's a bit of a tight schedule for those who aren't physically fit since he takes you to so many spots, but it was the best possible tour for fully enjoying Varanasi in a short amount of time. In my case, since I was the only participant, he guided me at a pace that was completely tailored to me. You don't need to know any English at all. He'll somehow manage to communicate using a translation app. I recommend this plan for solo travelers.
The time I had in Varanasi was limited, so l only experienced the boat ride and didn’t have a chance to visit the temples. I recommend discussing your preferred itinerary with the guide before the trip—the guide was very enthusiastic and informative. Also, for the boat ride, I suggest requesting a small private boat instead of a shared one. That way, you can take beautiful, Instagram-worthy photos.

Having a local guide made me feel so secure! It was fun being taken to places we wouldn't have been able to go on our own! Having a private boat was also great :)
Worst Klook ride ever. you can get the same experience literally at 1/8 the price. transfers were done in public transport and scheduling was pathetic. guide literally took us for 15 min walk and gave random information. utter waste of money
