La Traviata

Orpheus & Eurydice

Journey to the underworld and back. Gluck’s heartbreaking opera follows the grieving Orpheus into the jaws of Hades to rescue his beloved Eurydice. He must complete his quest without looking back, or lose Eurydice forever.
Awe-inspiring acrobatics meet Gluck’s exquisite music in a genre-busting production, making this a highlight of Sydney Festival. Projections seamlessly integrate surtitles into the action on stage, as brilliant singers come together with the trailblazing circus artists of Circa, one of Australia’s most successful cultural exports.

Mozart’s Idomeneo

Drowning at sea in a vicious storm, the King of Crete makes a terrible vow to Neptune. To save his ship and his men, he will sacrifice the first human life he encounters on land. Bound by his rash promise, Idomeneo comes ashore and meets his own son. The choice he makes next sets the vengeance of the gods upon the people of Crete.
Rooted in the ancient mythology of the Trojan War’s aftermath, Mozart’s epic opera remains a story for our time. It explores human themes we recognise today: the fallout of war, natural catastrophe, grief, love and human frailty.
In Lindy Hume’s new production, the human emotion and mythic power of the drama is reflected in an immersive set evoking the epic seas, skies and rugged coastline of ancient Crete.

Although the positions are randomly arranged, they can all be arranged in the middle position in the upper row. It is very convenient to see the stage and subtitles throughout the whole process, and the performance is also very exciting.
It's one of a kind experience in the Sydney Opera House. You get to view the opera house from the inside as well, not something you can do normally.
We had an amazing time here. The performance was incredible and the seats were so close to the stage that we could see every expression on the actors' faces! All at 50% off so we essentially got like a Cat A ticket for the price of a Cat D or something like that.
the Sydney opera house is of course beautiful as always. the show we watched - Mozart's Indomeneo- is not too recommended though. They all dressed (deliberately?) too modern world costumes that I just couldn't immerse into their ancient story telling plots. other than that, it's pretty good.
This time I went to listen to an opera at the Opera House, a typical symbol of Sydney. It was my first experience in my life and I was very excited. However, I found opera difficult because of the language barrier. Even though I couldn't understand the words completely, I was able to watch the performance while imagining what the scene was like right now.
I don't think I'll ever forget the special experience of watching a play with my family at the Sydney Opera House.^^ I want to come back when I get the chance.^^ Thanks to Klook, it was easy to make a reservation, and I made great memories!
I visited Sydney again after 10 years. I promised myself that I would definitely see the opera this time, and it was a decision I have no regrets. I recommend it.

When I bought it, I was worried about whether I would encounter problems in use, but it was not difficult as expected when I arrived at the site. I entered the venue smoothly. However, the location is a little to the side, but it does not affect the viewing.
