Reviews
Fantastic experience! Very lucky to see whales, dolphins, seals, gulls and even small penguins. My whole family was so excited searching and catching glimpse of the whales but from a distance. Overall experience is great and would highly recommend but weather has to be good.
crew was so so experienced. it happened to be a really good day out too and we were blessed with so many sightings from dolphines to whales and penguins! would go again
Amazing experience! The crew were all very knowledgeable about the ocean and marine life around it and were very happy to spot and update us on the birds and marine mammals in the area. We managed to catch some Common Dolphins and Bottlenose Dolphins during our cruise and were issued a complimentary voucher for our next visit (no expiry!) as we didn't manage to see any whales and they have a guarantee for all customers! It was also super cool to hear fun facts about the dolphins from their marine scientists onboard. Overall wonderful experience and I look forward to going back to Auckland and using up that complimentary voucher one day!
well organised tour. easy to find meeting spot. staffs were professional and knowledgeable. didnt manage to catch anything on our first trip and were offered second trip for free, which we managed to see dolphins. highly recommended.
it was a wonderful experience though a bit expensive. The captain and crews had tried hard to locate whales and dolphins for us. We saw 2 whales from quite a distance and many dolphins swam around our vessel.
Nice weather! Good explanation! The boat is big, stable, and there is no problem of seasickness! This time I was very lucky to see whales (although far away) and dolphins (right next to the boat, really naughty and enjoyable to watch)! The crew is amazing and they all know where the whales are🤣. Be sure to wear sunscreen no matter in winter or summer, you can get tan in fifteen minutes. When standing on the bow of the boat, be careful of getting splashed by the sea water. All in all, a very good experience!
We had such a great experience on the Auckland Whale & Dolphin Watching tour! The guides were also marine biologists, which made the trip even more meaningful—we really appreciated the insights they shared about the animals and how they track chances of spotting dolphins and whales. We were lucky to see at least six whales that day, even though they didn’t come very close to the boat. The ride was a bit wavy, but that’s just part of being out at sea. The tour itself was very well organized, and overall it was an awesome and memorable experience!
I arrived late, but the staff immediately asked me and helped me board. I'm truly grateful. And seeing the dolphins out in the open sea was the best part. I definitely want to come back again.
amazing trip, saw dolphins and whales and penguins, knowledgeable tour guides and marine scientists, sky was blue and weather was great
In addition to seeing a lot of dolphins following the boat, you can also see whales spraying water! In addition to watching animals, the staff will also introduce how biological-related scientific research is conducted, which is a good choice for education and entertainment! The staff also gave detailed safety explanations. I highly recommend this trip. The only thing you need to pay attention to is to watch the weather forecast, which may be cancelled sometimes.
