Because it's more expensive here, most of the customers are foreigners, and it's more convenient since shower gel and shampoo are provided. You need to bring your own face towels and bath towels. There's one indoor pool and a small semi-outdoor pool. If you go to Tsubaki-no-Yu, they don't provide shower gel or shampoo; you have to buy them separately. Actually, the total cost of buying those things is about the same as going to Asuka-no-Yu Onsen. Tsubaki-no-Yu is way too crowded, and there's only one pool. This place has more locals, but there are also many foreigners, so it tends to be less crowded.
I love the atmosphere here, it feels so ceremonial! I've been to many hot springs ♨️, but this place has a very unique ritualistic vibe, and the service is incredibly friendly and attentive. Sitting together with everyone on the outdoor platform, being served tea 🍵 and snacks 🥧, and having a fan 🪭 offered to you makes you feel so welcome. Everyone is very polite and chats quietly, so it’s not noisy at all. I enjoyed the yukata experience here. It's so relaxing to take a bath in the autumn air and enjoy a completely peaceful rest for your body and mind 😌. I will definitely visit again next time!
When using the Matsuyama Dogo Onsen in Japan, it was nice that I could enjoy the hot springs with the admission ticket, rent a yukata, and have tea, and spend time leisurely after the hot springs and hot springs. It was nice to be able to experience the hot spring culture while enjoying tea time, taking pictures in a traditional Japanese tatami lounge and wearing a yukata, rather than just enjoying the hot springs. It was convenient that there was a Korean guide~
Don't worry about the language barrier... The staff is very polite and will use a translation device to explain the important information about using the hot spring resort... Although it's the public bath on the first floor, it's very comfortable... After soaking, you will receive a cup of tea and a snack...
This ticket allows you to select a private tatami room on the second floor of Asuka no Yu to relax and change into a yukata. Although the hot spring bath is on the first floor in the main bathhouse, after your bath you can return to the second floor to enjoy Japanese sweets and tea. It's a great place to unwind.
The store is very kind and understanding even if you arrive a little late. The hot spring water is of good quality, well-equipped, and there are night views and cookies to eat.
Beautiful traditional onsen building run by one of the oldest onsen in Japan! Also had a great experience in a traditional room eating sweets while wearing a yukata! Recommended experience!
I intended to buy a ticket for Dogo Onsen but ended up purchasing one for Asuka-no-Yu. I really enjoyed the cozy, compact size of the bath. Even though it wasn't the main Dogo Onsen, which has long lines when it opens at 6:00 AM, I was completely satisfied. The semi-open-air hot spring felt very private, and I thoroughly enjoyed a super relaxing time. There was also a projection mapping display. It wasn't a flashy show at all; it made me feel warm and fuzzy, like watching an old folk tale. I highly recommend it if you're going to "onsen-hop" in Dogo, like one might "bar-hop." I bathed from 6:30 AM to 7:30 AM and was lucky it wasn't too crowded.
It's very convenient. You can purchase online directly on-site and redeem immediately with the voucher. Experience: The staff were very patient in explaining everything, and after the hot spring, you can enjoy snacks. The resting environment is very comfortable.
The day I arrived, the wind chill was -10, incredibly cold. The onsen arrangement was fantastic. I don't speak English or Japanese, but the staff patiently assisted me and used a translation device to explain things. A great experience. I can definitely recommend it, the second floor space is even better...more comfortable.
