Reviews
Tomodachiya友達屋 is a traditional Japanese sweets "Wagashi" craft shop. Popular among local people. we learned how to make Kantsubaki and Seccyuuku from the master. it was a wonderful experience.
Great value for great experience. if you have spera 60 minutes, you should give it a try this beautiful and delicious experience. a very warm family run business with great sweets. communication was very smooth and the workshop is very well prepared. try it.
It was a lovely experience. The host was very friendly and patient as he was explaining how to make Wagashi. The type you make depends on the season, so the experience is quite individual.
The owner is very kind and helpful, and the making process wasn't difficult, so it was fun. You can choose one drink with a total of four Wagashi sweets, which I think is a good value for the price. Even if you don't know Japanese, they explain it in English, so I think it's worth trying if you're visiting Kumamoto. Also, the instructions said to bring a handkerchief, but even if you don't bring one, they provide one on-site. You don't necessarily need to buy one.
We absolutely loved our confectionary experience! It was wonderfully authentic, a small class with a very kind & encouraging instructor. We were lucky to also have a matcha tea ceremony. Highly recommended
