Reviews
Our trip to Mount Bromo and Tumpak Sewu was incredible. We were blessed with a clear, full view of Bromo at sunrise. Just a heads-up: the hikes are much steeper than expected! The trek down to Tumpak Sewu involves very narrow, high stairs, but the waterfall is worth every bit of effort. Our guide and driver, Sunny, was amazing—patient, friendly, and kept us comfortable the entire time. Regarding accommodation, we were moved from Artha Cottage to Harmoni Guest House. It was a nice substitution, especially with the stunning view of the Semeru volcano. Highly recommended for anyone up for a bit of a climb!
It is well arranged as stated in the itinerary. Our driver Agus, the guides and the stay over host are friendly, helpful and polite. The whole trip was fun to meet new friends and the stay at Indah Damai is great too. Good for Solo traveller to join this tour, more going together will be cheaper though.
My trip was amazing! 1. Mount Bromo was incredible, with a starry sky, a huge caldera, and a massive crater. It was cold, so warm clothes were essential. I got lost finding the summit and paid too much for a short motorcycle taxi ride. Support here would have been helpful. 2. The hotel offered a great view of Mount Semeru, with hot water and no bugs. The staff were friendly and spoke English, and breakfast was delicious. The door lock was difficult, and the Wi-Fi was weak. 3. I visited Panorama Kapas Biru, a unique spot to photograph waterfalls with mountains, which was a good experience. 4. Teras Semeru. I enjoyed beautiful views of Mount Semeru and rice fields. 5. Tumpak Sewu Waterfall was spectacular. The path was wet, so I recommend clothes that can get wet and a change. I felt nature's energy. The local guide took great photos, but he smoked and littered, which was concerning. 6. My driver, Rudy, drove carefully and kept the trip on schedule.
When I went, there were five of us who went to see the sunrise at Mount Bromo, and the next day, due to timing, I went to see the waterfall by myself! Our driver, Dalbow, was friendly and flexible, suggesting various places to visit according to our schedule. Regarding the accommodation included in the tour, it wasn't exactly clean, and while I, as a backpacker, could tolerate it, Japanese travelers might find it a bit challenging. It's something to be aware of. You'll be asked if you prefer a shared room or a private room, but if you choose a shared room, please note that two people will be sleeping in one queen or double bed. Despite the slight issue with the accommodation, my overall satisfaction with the tour was very high, and I felt I got more than my money's worth! While it's undeniably a somewhat demanding schedule, I think it offers great time efficiency and cost-effectiveness for those who are confident in their physical stamina!
I joined the 2-day, 1-night Bromo Volcano and Sewu Waterfall tour, and it took us to all the places I wanted to go. I also met some great people on the tour. However, since I always travel solo, the cost was a bit high, even for this type of shared tour. Before the trip, it was a bit difficult to contact the supplier (I had to go through Klook customer service to get in touch with them). But the actual experience was good! The tour guide only appeared at Sewu Waterfall and helped take beautiful photos of the waterfall. For Bromo Volcano and the observation deck, the driver drove us to the attractions, and we went on our own.
Very good experience overall. The tour guide was very friendly and informative. Always try to bring us to new places. We stayed for a night at Indah Damai cottage in Lumajang, BEST HOSPITALITY EVER!! We love Adit and Firman. The places that we went was so pretty. Will definitely come again and recommend to others
The driver was very nice and punctual. The volcano trip was fun and I got along well with other group members. The tour guide also tried to introduce me in English. The scenery was very spectacular. The volcano was very beautiful when I opened the door of the hotel. The waterfall was very large and spectacular after the rain. The tour guide took a lot of photos for me. I was very satisfied. It is recommended to start this activity from Surabaya
This is also great for solo travelers; unlike other platforms that require two people to form a group, I was the only one in my chosen package and it still formed a group. The driver was punctual for pickups and drop-offs, added me on WhatsApp in advance to communicate, and thoughtfully prepared two days of free breakfast. They also provided transportation during meal times. The scenery arranged was beautiful, and the driver/guide proactively helped with photos. During the hike to see Mount Bromo, we joined other small groups, and there were even other Chinese travelers, so I didn't feel lonely. The only thing I hope could be improved is the accommodation, which was quite basic. I wish there were better options, but this might be due to the rural area around the volcano.
This 2-day, 1-night tour from Surabaya to Mt Bromo and Tumpak Sewu covered the key sights with minimal hassle. The door-to-door service was very convenient, and all entrance fees and tolls were included, which made things easy. Everyone we met — drivers, guides, and photographers — was friendly and polite. The overnight accommodation was clean and comfortable, with welcoming hosts who made us feel at home. However, there were some things to note. Pickup was at 11:30pm the night before, which wasn’t clearly communicated during the booking. The included "breakfast" was very basic and had to be eaten in the car, so bringing snacks is a must. There were also limited food breaks, and expect a lot of driving and traffic given the distances involved. Overall, it’s a straightforward way to see these landmarks if you go prepared.
its my first time booking for this trip with my partner and we had an awesome experience. great interaction with the driver and the guide too. Alot of nice views to take your shots.
