Reviews
This nighttime safari was very cool. We were able to see a lot of coconut crabs and other inhabitants of the Iriomote jungle! We don't recommend it for arachnophobes because there are literally spiders everywhere, their bodies shine slightly in the moonlight. The only two downsides to the activity were the cloudy sky preventing us from fully enjoying the stars and the fact that the guide only partially spoke English. He still made a lot of effort to make sure we understood as much as possible, even using Google Translate when he couldn't find his words.
A very friendly guide who used a translator to explain the various animals to me. They were very considerate of my language barrier. It was my first time seeing wild animals up close in a reserve, and I felt very happy. They even drove me back to my hotel afterwards.
I give the 5 stars service mostly for our guide i(Jensen) for his tring everything to show us what he could in the walk and on the beach. He waited for all groups left so we could see the perfect sky full of stars. The highlight of the tour is we could capture the moment of sea turtle laying eggs on the beach! we could see it solely due to the guide’s dedication to his work and his passion to the nature! the only thing the tour should pay attention to is the air-conditioning of the minibus.
It was a very nice tour and we were able to see a lot of things, I recommend it.
I was impressed by the kindness and fluency of the guide Taro. The tour was enjoyable and I highly recommend it. I love it. This is why I came from each island to Irio Motel Island. See you again later. Thank you.
The day I participated was a mix of rain and clouds, but we were able to go on the tour without any rain. We saw many coconut crabs and other crabs. We also saw insects and birds, and the guide taught us a lot about the wildlife, which I think made the experience more valuable than if I had just explored on my own.
Although it was a cloudy night it was fun to walk through the jungle and along the beach , we saw birds, crabs, spiders and frogs, an enjoyable evening, thank you Shika-chan 😁
I was able to see a very beautiful starry sky. Since the number of stars that children can see is quite different from mine, I think it's better to have the opportunity to see the starry sky while your children are still young and while you are still young. I was able to learn the origins of the names of creatures that I didn't know before, and it was a fun memory.
The starry night tour in Iriomote was amazing. We enjoyed clear views of the stars. We also saw lots of nocturnal animals. Highly recommended.
We participated just before the end of the rainy season, and the weather in the Yaeyama Islands was challenging, typical of the region, with sudden heavy downpours followed by clear skies. However, the journey with our guide, literally pushing through dense vegetation into a jungle that felt like an animal trail, searching for wildlife, was thrilling and incredibly enjoyable. Thanks to this, we encountered not only coconut crabs but also habu snakes, rare hermit crabs, bats, and even scorpions, making for a truly fulfilling experience. We were very grateful to be lent shoes, as we were entering a jungle along the coast and there was a risk of getting muddy. Also, it rained heavily at one point, and there was no room or opportunity to use an umbrella, so a waterproof jacket made of Gore-Tex or similar material is essential.
