What to expect

Kitakyushu Shimonoseki, this coastal paradise that combines natural wonders and historical culture, is full of surprises at every step 🌊.

  • The observation deck of Wabukari PA overlooks the Kanmon Strait, offering a panoramic view of the sea and sky. You can also buy local specialties from Kyushu and Shimonoseki and feel the strong local customs 🛍️.
  • Visiting Akiyoshido Cave is like entering the secret garden of the earth. As the second longest and largest limestone cave in Japan, stalactites and stalagmites are staggered here, and the underground temperature is 17 degrees Celsius all year round, making it comfortable in both summer and winter ❄️☀️. Walking slowly along the sightseeing route, every strangely shaped rock tells a million years of natural history, which makes people admire the long history of the earth. Lunch can be taken care of outside the cave, and you can rest for a while before continuing to explore the mysterious underground world.
  • Motonosumi Inari Shrine is one of the most representative landscapes in Shimonoseki. 123 vermilion torii gates extend along the hillside to the cliffs, setting off the blue sky and blue sea, which is magnificent ⛩️. Challenging the high-up offertory box adds fun to tourists, and the "Dragon Palace Tide Blow" next to it, every time the waves hit the rock wall, the spray is as high as 30 meters. If the light is right, you can also see a rainbow, like a magical performance of nature 🌈. If the shrine is temporarily closed, you can also go to Fukutoku Inari Shrine. The red torii gates on the hill contrast with the Kanmon Strait, and it is an excellent place for photography enthusiasts when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom in spring.
  • Drive to Tsunoshima Bridge, the 1,780-meter bridge spans the blue sea, like a long corridor leading to the sky. The blue of the bridge and the sea blend together, and the beautiful scenery is breathtaking. It is a must-see place for Shimonoseki travel 📸. The natural scenery, sea view and historical buildings along the way are staggered, making people linger.

* This trip to Kitakyushu Shimonoseki perfectly integrates natural wonders, historical sites and coastal beauty. Every place is worth savoring and leaving unforgettable memories ✨.

this is definitely one of our favourite cave experiences as we are double happy to have our second time tour trip with our tour guide , Thomas . he is very kind , informative and helpful as usual to provide us in depth knowledge about the cave and the rest of our activity as well. the cave is definitely worth visiting even though it took us about an hour and half to finish the whole cave walk. the lime stone and the natural transformation is definitely not to be missed as Mother Nature indeed are very beautiful to fondly admired. definitely would like to come by the cave again for a second visit

My sibling and I were planning a trip to Fukuoka and wanted to explore new places, so I booked this tour. It was a Chinese company's product, so our group consisted of Chinese and other foreign tourists, with us being the only Koreans. However, the guide kindly explained everything in English, so we had no trouble. I highly recommend visiting the Shuho-do Cave; it's a truly magnificent natural cave. However, our group skipped the observation deck outside the cave, which you can reach by elevator. Also, at the second stop, Motonosumi Inari Shrine, we weren't allowed to enter the temple itself, so we only saw the ocean. Personally, I think it would have been more fulfilling if we had spent more time at the cave and visited the observation deck. The shrine felt a bit underwhelming given the travel time. I'd love to visit the cave again with my family next time. The guide was very kind, and thanks to them, we had a wonderful trip.

What a fantastic day trip! The meeting point was easy to find right outside Hakata Station, and the staff proactively confirmed our destination. The seats on the bus were comfortable, and the driver was safe and steady. Our guide, Lisa, was incredibly kind and enthusiastic, always offering to help take photos. Her explanations of the attractions were very professional, and she was fluent in three languages, which made our journey very relaxed and enjoyable. All the places we visited were beautiful, and we were even luckier that the cloudy morning turned into a clear, sunny afternoon. The most incredible part was that we could easily visit several attractions that are difficult to access by public transport for less than the price of a one-way Shinkansen ticket to Kumamoto – the value for money was exceptional. Finally, the schedule was well-planned, allowing us ample time to enjoy the scenery and take photos at each attraction.

Best day tour ever. Our tour guide Sun was so friendly and easy to talk. He explained everything about the places we visited even recommended other places around Fukuoka. He is such a fun and cheerful person. I’m so happy we met him. The places we visited were beautiful. Motonosumi Shrine was my dream to see it, and it didn’t disappoint. The other places were also amazing especially the Tsunoshima bridge. I highly recommend this day tour. It was perfectly organized.

The guide was helpful, cheerful and informative. Her explanation in both English and Mandarin were very clear. She even recommended us food to try at Hakata. The 92 red torri gates were beautiful. The bridge that runs above the sea was beautiful but too bad that we could only enjoy the view on the bus.

The cave was really impressive to see - the rock formations are all unique and you can hear little descriptions for some areas with machines they have in the cave. We took the descending path, so when you exit you can have some food and look at the trinkets they sell there. The view of the ocean at Motonosumi Inari shrine was really impressive. Unfortunately I went on the weekend so we were unable to go through. Tsunoshima is gorgeous - you really have to see it with your own eyes as the colour is quite hard to see on camera. This trip covers a very large area so there's a lot of transport time in between but the driver did a good job getting us to places quickly and smoothly. It would have been really difficult to get to these locations on my own. Our guide Cico was very knowledgeable and helped people take photos. Great experience!

the cave is something that you definitely have to experience in person for yourself! impressive sight. also, do try the burdock noodles right outside the cave! it was the best thing i ate on my trip. the view of the sea was more stunning than the torii gates imo, and the bridge wasnt too special. my guide was helpful and offered to help take photos, and seemed like a nice person, which i really do appreciate. however, it was hard to find the tour group at the gathering point and you have to ask around to find your guide. it also felt like the guide was overwhelmed by the large tour group size, especially when guide’s chinese is noticeably better than english. i could understand both languages, so it was clear when some info wasnt mentioned in english, and i felt bad for the english-only speakers on the tour.

As a solo traveller I am happy to join this tour as I was able to go to places that are difficult to reach if you don’t have a car. The van is spacious, tour guide speaks English and Chinese and follows time strictly. Our guide Ella explains each places that we went through. She also serves as photographer and making sure that all participants are accounted for.

Akiyoshidō Cave was fascinating, especially as it was my kids’ first cave visit — the formations inside are impressive. It drizzled at Motonosumi Inari Shrine, but the coastal views were still lovely. We were lucky to catch sunshine at Tsunoshima Bridge, with magnificent views and jade-coloured waters. The guide was friendly and made the day enjoyable. Do remember to check the weather forecast, as it can really affect the experience.

It’s not a common route, so there were less people on our tour. Perfect for people who want to get away from the over-crowded tourist spots near fukuoka (takachiho/beppu tours) and not sure where else to visit on a free day. Highly recommended tour, as our tour guide Edward was very professional and gave detailed explanation about the destinations’ - some fun facts, some historical knowledge, and some chemistry knowledge.
