Tickets are completely sold out for popular times on weekdays, so be sure to buy them online in advance! The tour includes a glass of red wine/champagne/beer or cola. The recent sunset time is around 6:15 PM, and I bought a ticket for the 6:20 PM boat. You can arrive early, around 6:00 PM, to rest in the lounge next to the pier, so you don't have to stand outside in the cold wind. Arrive early to board early and choose your seat. The lounge also has a boat company-exclusive restroom, so you don't need to use the portable toilets on the pier. The 6:20 PM boat arrives in front of the Parliament Building just as it gets completely dark (around 7:00 PM), so you can watch from sunset until it gets dark. I sat in the first row on the left side of the boat, which was a perfect spot. Buda Castle and Fisherman's Bastion are both on the left side when it's dark. Only on the outbound trip to the Parliament Building do you need to stand up, walk to the right side to take a photo, and then come back. On the return, the left side will also face the Parliament Building, but the boat will be farther away, so the photos won't be as beautiful. That's all I have to share.
We had a fantastic time on the Danube River Evening Sightseeing Cruise in Budapest! The 7:30PM slot was perfect, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful city lights as the sun sets. It was a bit chilly, so definitely remember to bring a jacket. The drinks served included a nice selection of champagne, beer, juice and water. The champagne was a great choice for the photo ops! Using the Klook QR code made the boarding process super convenient; we simply showed it at the entrance before the boat ride. Overall, a wonderful experience that I highly recommend!
one of the highlights of our visit to budapest. make sure to take the cruise right before sunset so you get to see the views before and after it gets dark. the parliament building lit up is amazing. highly recommended!
As others have mentioned, there isn't much outdoor seating, so you need to arrive and queue earlier than the suggested time. I had a reservation for 8:20 PM, and I arrived to wait around 7:40-7:45 PM. I found the 8:20 PM time slot to be perfect, as you can see everything from sunset until it's completely dark. You get to experience both the unlit scenery and the illuminated views. This activity wasn't originally in my Budapest itinerary; it was a last-minute decision and purchase. After it was all over, I have to say I'm so glad I decided to go; it was truly worth it!
I went on a night cruise at the end of December. I started lining up 20 minutes before the departure time, but the line was very long. The first floor seating area is glass-enclosed, and guide earphones are provided at the seats. The second floor is completely open-air, but it's incredibly cold and sparsely populated. Of course, the view is better from the second floor, and you can take better pictures. You can freely move between the first and second floors. It comes with one drink, but there are no hot drinks available, and they don't bring drinks to the second floor, so be careful. The scenery was spectacular, and the Parliament Building and Chain Bridge were incredibly beautiful! Just like I saw on TV! I'm glad I came.
Even though it was a bit cold with rain and strong winds, this boat tour was absolutely worth it. I took the 8 PM cruise on May 16th, having booked in advance, as mid-May is considered peak tourist season. Around 7 PM, I was worried it would still be too bright to see the illuminated Parliament Building at night, but as the boat departed at 8 PM, dusk began to settle. First, there was the blue hour sky, and it truly was a beautiful night view!
This is the only boat tour that you should do! The monuments are lighted at night and they look so pretty! Very easy to redeem and staff communicated with me via email to inform me that I will need to reschedule to a later timing. No worries.. I like the commentary and the free drink as well!
It was a lovely experience. The views were beautiful and city lights looked amazing from the water. The boat was clean and comfortable and staff were friendly.
This is a must-do tour when visiting Budapest. We attended the 9:30 show, which was perfect in the summer. The whole city was glittering by the river, which was very charming.
we arrived 30 mins earlier to queue up to avoid the crowd and secured a good window seat fo taking nice pictures. It’s quite windy and cold after 4pm in late November, we only went out to the outdoor area to take a few pictures upon seeing the Hungarian Parliament. We are very lucky that the other passengers are all very quiet and no noise made so that we can really enjoy the champagne and the beautiful scenery. The champagne is just a normal one but good for taking pictures 😂 I would recommend joining this boat tour as the pier is easily accessible and we only took a frame ride after a guided tour to the Parliament. Don’t forget to visit the free washroom at the pier before you go. It’s clean.
