Hotel Grand Central (SG Clean, Staycation Approved)

I usually don't like writing negative reviews, but Hotel Grand Central is in serious need of renovations or refurbishment, as my family's stay wasn't exactly the best. First day we checked into our room, it was strange that our room door was open, that I didn't notice much at first. However, first night asleep, it was strange as I kept getting the wafting smell of sewerage. It wasn't until I left the room and returned, I could smell the strong odour of sewerage. I requested the room to be deodorised on the second day, however when I returned to the room, the sewerage smell was still quite strong. The hotel staff were very understanding, as they attended my room and were also taken aback from the smell. We were shown another two rooms to choose from. The first room directly above our original room also had a strong sewerage smell. Fortunately, the second room did not smell as bad, but the odour was still there. The beds were smaller too. Apart from the odour, the beds were comfortable and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately housekeeping closes early in the evening. The rooftop pool is quite nice, but the deck is in need of service as some of the boards were coming loose. Would have been nice to have towels provided in the pool area, but there were none. Hotel's location is quite good as it's close to food, shopping and transportation. It would've been a good stay if it weren't for the odour issues.

Always stay there when in singapore. Very disappointed this time, no face towel no hand towel and no bathrobe. Was told by front desk we only get bathrobe and face towel if we stay in premier room. That is ridiculous....not happy.

Price is ok and near city centre.

Well located, good breakfast, clean, friendly and helpful staff

A nice hotel with Ana excellent location to bus stops, MRT and shopping centres (including many food options). The roof/pool area was looking a little tired and the rooms were a little on the small side (Twin Deluxe) but I temper this by saying we spent our days sightseeing so we really only slept at the hotel so the smaller size was easily tolerated.

Very close to orchard road and easily walkable to everywhere. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Close to all for shopping eating MRT a d everything i needed

Great location, clean rooms. Front reception not very friendly. Pool area, needs a good weed, a good clean and revamp. Maintenance was watering the weeds with the pool water, which made us question whether it had enough chlorine?!

Allowed to check in early. Clean and functional room. Didn't have the best view from our room but only really slept in the room. Convenient for the station with plenty of shops near by. Can't comment on breakfast as didn't have it, but pretty sure you can get a cheaper breakfast nearby.

It was clean and servicable in a very convenient location to get around Singapore. Breakfast was good but no other meals or inhouse service but 2 min walk to plenty of food options for meal, takeaway or snack - and every shopping experience you could want if that's your thing
