The half board Japanese meals were one of the best we have had. The onsen was fabulous, especially the outdoor part. Though I should have been mindful that the one called O was opened to public during certain hours. It was a bit crowded during those times. All in all, a lovely stay !

Newer, gorgeous property with Ainu elements at a serene part of the small town. Nice, minimally designed room with great view of the lake, great for a relax trip. Onsen water is brownish and feels v therapeutic, smoothening for the skin. Food is alright, breakfast portion is a little small. Unlike other similar grade onsen hotels, there is no drinks provided in the room - only a jug of water, this is rather disappointing. Can't be sure the water is fresh. If this is due to environmental practice, the hotel could have provided water in aluminium can...

I love this place. I could stay for a whole week. The rooms are awesome. The views are unbeatable, the onsen is wonderful, and the staff is the best of the best. Thanks, Tristan, and everyone else who helped during my stay 😊

The area was beautiful and peaceful and very calming. The onsen felt realy nice and rejuvenating after our snowboarding crash course. They also had dryers in the hotels for snowboards and boots and where more than happy to turn it on for us.

We had the most gorgeous time at this beautiful ryokan/onsen/resort. The setting is so calm and luxurious – I’ll never forget sitting in the (huge) window of our room in the evening and morning, watching the birdlife over the pond and river, with the snowy mountains in the distance. The outdoor onsen is especially spectacular in the early mornings and late nights, and we appreciated that even at 'busy' times during our stay there were only a handful of other people at most in the onsen. It was also lovely to have information for those new to onsen, so everyone felt welcome and comfortable, and a recommended 'itinerary' for a one-night stay, acknowledging that many (like us) would only have a short time here. Dinner and breakfast were both stunning in the traditional ryokan style, with lovely sake and wine on offer in the evening. The hotel is clearly able to accomodate a large number of guests but is cleverly laid out (as is the dining room) to make it feel very intimate and private for each guest. It’s such a special and calm place, and one I’ll always think of very fondly! (PS. You can access the National Ainu Museum by foot via the hotel car park, or it’s a very quick drive next door. We visited after checking out — not to be missed!)

The friendly staff, their service is outstanding. There is a dedicated person who welcome you, carry your bags, give you a tour of the facility and the room. The room is clean and comfortable, great amenities, the only thing that I do not like is they blast the heater to high, even with lowering the temperature, it is still very hot. The room came with dinner and breakfast. I did not tell them in advance that my husband is allergic to diary, So there have no time to amend the menu for dinner. But for the breakfast, they were able to substitute all dishes with diary with alternatives. Service is excellent and over and above.
