This hotel is in a beautiful setting and I would highly rate it except for two issues. One is that the air conditioning does not go lower than 23 Celsius. We tried 2 rooms and same result so it is a hotel wide lower limit. You cannot have 19 or 20 Celsius. Second is that the very nice pool is overrun with kids taking formal swim lessons. Multiple groups of them. The hotel seems to be running a side business of a community swim club. Very unpleasant for hotel guests, especially us as we filtered our hotel search for hotels with pools since July hot weather.

Really helpful and kind staff. Free breakfast buffet that had a gorgeous spread with food from Asian and Western cuisines. The property is magnificent, really embodying the hallmarks of Jiangnan architecture.

Solo stay

The hotel design is full of local history elements but still comfortable in modern sense. Services are excellent, staff are helpful. Room is big and quiet. Laundry facility is helpful for long stay. Location is convenient to the subway stations

The room was clean but as the hotel is huge.. walking to the room esp for elderly is quite long if at the end from the lobby. We booked 3 rooms. Stay at 4066 and 4060 and 4084. Swimming pool is decent with indoor pool available too. Cafe is great. Breakfast selection can be better. There is a lady call Mia at concierge desk who is really excellent and helpful. There a metro Walking from the hotel in 12 min est. Best is the free entry to the garden from the hotel.

Stayed with kids · For business

The hotel is a replica of an ancient Suzhou villa and garden. It is a huge resort and offers many fun facilities. We visited the Han dynasty clothing experience center which lends one guest one free hour of Han dynasty ancient clothing to try out. That was a lot of fun and we shot many pics in the ancient garden. The manager was so nice and generous and offered 2 guests in our party of the same service. I heartily recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in Suzhou built in Chinese style with lovely gardens, rooms on 4 levels spread across the building. Fairly central for visiting Suzhou with easy access to the metro and walking distance to Shiquan street lined with restaurants and shops. Recommend an evening walk in the Pan Gate scenic area which is open to guests until 9pm. Fantastic breakfast with a broad selection of food to cater to all tastes. The only observation would be to try and reduce the noise produced by the robots that deliver takeaway food to the rooms as they rattle along the hard floor, but overall a great experience and would recommend.

Very nice staff at the front door. Every front door staff helped me to get on and off with my bag and stroller from taxi. This was very helpful since i have a 2 year old girl with me. My appreciation to these front door staff.
