Fantastic Convenient location for walking to the shrines, etc. The Annex is located a bit further than the first Turtle Inn, but is still a lovely establishment. Kind staff.

Great Very welcoming host. Pleasant B&B on an isolated side street in Nikko near wide open park space.

Charming place closest to the many buddhas, and it’s walking distance to the Toshogu complex. It’s clean and comfortable. There are 3 restaurants, several cafes, and a Lawsons nearby. The onsen was nice.
We took a bus from the Tobu Nikko station to go to the hotel. After you leave the bus, it’s a ~10 minute walk. The tourist info center at the station can tell you which bus to take (2A, 2B, or 2C) and where to get off (stop 8 - Yasukawacho).
The only problem was that it ran out of water some point in the morning (soon after 8 am), which was annoying for those who opted to exercise and couldn’t take a shower. We later saw the water truck come around noon.
But we still enjoyed our stay there!

Very comfortable stay on the futon - it was lovely to hear the waterfalls from our room. Location was lovely - bit of a walk from the main town of Nikko, but it was fine for us!
The staff were charming and so helpful.

The best partnof this hotel is the onsen, very easy to use the private facility. The hotel is located quite a distance from the train station so it could be difficult to access depending on weather. However it was close to Toshogu shrine and the Kanmangafuchi Abyss was right next door. Highly recommend if you like relaxing in onsen waters.

Great location, in a walking distance to the main sightseeing spots in Nikko (as well as a useful convenience store), yet tucked away in a quiet area. Nice and relaxed atmosphere. Super friendly staff. Highly recommended.

I was in Japan for 2 weeks and this was possibly my favorite place I stayed at. The owners are so nice and welcoming. They speak great English, so that made my life easier! The nicest lady showed me around everything and took time to explain every appliance and amenity with demonstrations. They also held my bags for me after check-out so I could explore.
The private onsen was fantastic - the afternoon light, and river view, is beautiful. My room (western) was very comfortable. Great walking distance to so many historic sites. I didn’t need a bus or taxi staying here and I am not a very active person. There is a 24 hour Lawsons nearby.
Just remember: you are in the mountains, in a very humid environment. There may be the occasional bug or unexpected plant life, but everything was clean and well-cared for. Bed was very comfy and fresh. This isn’t a luxury resort; it’s like staying in a very nice family cottage. That, and the hosts, are why it’s special. I would come back to Niko just to stay here, even if I didn’t visit any tourist sites. Definitely try this place!

Fantastic Amazing location for a balance of being connected with nature in Nikko and close enough for transportation to the city by bus! Owners were attentive and very helpful in helping you arrange for transportation (taxi) in advance, giving tips of the local area, and were overall a joy!
