Solo stay

Unique place, a very different experience. Worth a night or 2, staff where a very mixed bag of very helpful and some not so. Think it's a bit overpriced but location is good for the old town!! Breakfast pretty basic

Great hotel to stay in Georgetown! First the staff was amazing, always ready to help, gave us several tips, marked the must see places on a map and how to get there, they were all great! The hotel is well located with main attractions walking distance: hotel is really well kept. Restaurant is really good and the service was really good. Rooms were clean and the daily treats were really good. Overall I would go back, no hesitation

Superb in every way. This former Penang shophouse has deservedly won awards as Malaysia’s best boutique hotel. The location is excellent, and the decor lovely, but it is the service and the staff that take it well beyond 5 stars. Over our 10 night stay we were made to feel simultaneously like family and celebrity VIPs. A bonus is the 4-times Michelin recognized Italian restaurant (Il Bacaro) on site.

The staff was great, especially Kumar at check in. Hotel and rooms are beautiful, historic, and quaint. On site restaurant had an excellent Valentine’s Day set dinner, and the breakfast included the next morning was perfectly done.

Solo stay

I would definitely recommend this hotel to visitors of Georgetown. It is a charming and quaint hotel. It is in a great location and the hotel staff are beyond gracious and hospitable. The morning breakfast was also delicious. My only one (small) heads up is to avoid using their 3rd party laundry service. I was not pleased with things in that sense. Otherwise, it was great experience!
